Captain Java's Cottage in beautiful Morro Bay!

An enchanting private cottage, ideal for two. Steps from the sand, whale spouts, sand dollars and sea otters to greet you. Private entrance, King size bed, fireplace and private bath. Outdoor seating area to enjoy ocean sunset views. Small refrigerator, microwave and place settings to make your stay easy and comfortable. Outdoor storage for beach toys, if you would like to bring them. Private washer and dryer.
You are surrounded by fabulous scenery and places to visit, whether walking, biking, horseback riding, surfing, kayaking, paddle-boarding or hiking. Morro Bay's Embarcadero is a relaxed walk from the cottage. For further jaunts, you can get in your car with easy access to major Central Coast attractions, such as the famous Hearst Castle, Paso Robles wine country, Cayucos pier, Cambria's moonstone boardwalk and Montana de Oro.
Cal Poly San Luis Obispo is only 15 minutes by car, so parents can visit children at school and escape back to the coast easily.

Morro Bay treasure

Captain Java’s Cottage was exactly as described. Tucked in a beautiful neighborhood, a short walk to the beach and close to Morro Bay, Cayucos and Cambria. Every detail was thought through by the owners. Lovely decor, comfortable bed, very clean, large patio area for enjoying coffee or watching the sunset.

Great base

We stayed here on our first visit to California. Relaxing cozy spot to use to go wine tasting in Paso Robles, driving up Hwy 1 for the gorgeous views and coming back to Morro Bay to walk the beach which is just a house away from Captain Java’s Cottage. So clean and inviting. Salina and Dave’s extras added to such a nice stay.

Wonderful Valentines Getaway

My wife and I had a great extended weekend at Captain Javas Cottage. The location is very close to the beach on a route frequented by many folks walking or riding bicycles. Very short drive to downtown Morro Bay or Cayucos. Cottage is stocked with all the necessities and the hosts are friendly and responsive. Definitely on the ‘would stay there again’ list!

Great stay!

This cottage is comfortable, beautiful, very clean, and in a great location. David and Sabine are wonderful hosts, making check-in and check-out very simple and providing everything we needed for a pleasant stay, and then some. They go the extra mile by providing snacks and juices, which we found so helpful and convenient. We hope to return soon.

Quaint and cozy

This was our first time to Morro bay, and in spite of the cool weather enjoyed our stay. The unit is well stocked and has a fun outdoor area which makes the space well useable. Very nice owners with good communication, a comfortable bed, and the beach steps away. This is definitely a place we would visit again.

Awesome property!

Such a great place to stay! Sabine and David thought of every detail. The place is decorated so beautifully - warm and inviting. Loved sitting on the patio and hearing the ocean waves breaking. Bed was so comfortable and the shower/bathroom was great. Liked having coffee pot available first thing in the morning too! Would definitely recommend staying here!

Java Cabin

Everthing was as advertised. Clean, great location, and great communication from the hosts. They provided complimentary snacks and extra beverages, which was a plus. My wife, who is usually picky about where we stay, was happy about the room. We will definitely consider staying there again if we plan another trip to the Morro Bay area.

Exceedingly pleasant stay!

A wonderful experience in a great location. Exceptionally clean, many, many amenities and thoughtful touches throughout the room, comfortable and quiet. Love the screened side "doors" adjacent to the entrance that allowed me to drift off and wake to the sound of ocean. Enjoyed meeting and chatting with Dave and Sabine, and am grateful they wish to share their little slice of heaven. I will definitely return and look forward to more walks on the beach and relaxing on the front porch.

Wonderful cottage

It's a really nice & wonderful cottage. The owners have put in some nice touches in decorating and making the place comfortable for guests. Check-in/out process is super easy and simple. The location is in a quiet neighborhood (except for the sound of the seagulls across the street rooftop :-D ) and near the beach (walking distance) The place lacks a kitchen but it has a small fridge, coffee maker, electric kettle, microwave oven ... The king bed is comfortable, the bathroom is big and the place is well-kept. I would certainly come back to this cottage.

Relax and recharge

We loved the location of this property, right by the beach. We took long walks along and on the beach. We enjoyed gorgeous sunsets. We went into town, it’s only a few minutes away, for seafood and brought some back for later. This was the perfect getaway to relax and recharge. The room was clean and the perfect size for just two of us. There were many amenities such as snacks and supplies. When we had a question the owners answered and were very friendly. The patio was comfy, clean, a good place to sit and relax. If you want to relax and enjoy the beach, this is the perfect place. We hope to return.

Close to the Ocean

We loved our stay at Captain Java's! We arrived mid December - in the dark - and it was so nice to see festive Christmas lights on to welcome us. We also found the poinsettia on the table - a wonderful holiday touch, as well as the sweets beside it. There was some cereal, creamer and coffee for us to use, as well as some things in the fridge - which was all very much appreciated! The fireplace was lovely to turn on in the evening and take the chill off. We stayed for two weeks, and we enjoyed coming 'home' every night! it is just a 5 - 10 minute walk down to the dunes and the ocean, which we greatly enjoyed. Most mornings we went on beach walks. So many things to do around the area and the coastal towns aren't far away. We loved that the drive to San Louis Obispo was just 12 miles away on a four lane besides lots of farm lands. We hope to stay here again sometime.
