The Alpine Tunnel is an 1800ft long railroad tunnel at an elevation of 11,523 Ft. It was the first railroad tunnel through the Continental Divide and the U.S. Forest Service says “ it remains the highest railroad tunnel and the longest narrow gauge tunnel in North America”. "I booked this hotel last minute for a solo trip to Salida/BV. The rate was awesome for what i got. The room was clean, and the bed was super comfortable. There was a soft blanket on the bed which made the room feel even cozier. I didn't get a chance to make it down for breakfast, but the staff was sure to let me know this was available! Everyone was friendly, and check in was a breeze. Parking was readily available with no issue. Couldn't have asked for a better stay-cation! Would definitely stay here again. "
