Even though it’s just a short drive from Brisbane or the Gold Coast, once you enter the lush landscape of Springbrook, you’ll feel worlds away. 

What’s the definition of cool? Try Springbrook. Why? Well for starters, this area in the Springbrook National Park sits on an extinct volcano, which is only a measly 23 million years old. Then there are the ancient ferns and conifers that grow in the fertile volcanic soil, not to mention the rainforest that’s home to birds and animals that can’t be found anywhere else in Australia (we’re talking pademelons and rare lyrebirds here). With lookouts, trails and waterfalls to explore, this place will float your boat whether you’ve got a spare afternoon, or a whole week, to fill.
