Beautiful Country Shop Home/Cabin

Our country shop home has a full kitchen and family room all in one. The family room has a recliner chair, recliner sofa and an regular sofa. There is a full shower bathroom. There also are two separate bedrooms. One with a king size bed and the other a queen size bed. We are out in the country with lots of parking space. Also, we are pet friendly. Our laboradore retrievers Jazz & Kash will probably be around to great you while you are here. Pretty sunrises & sunsets in the Texas panhandle. Also I’m sure you will hear our goats, chickens & ducks when you are outside for the total country effect.

Country Charm
Loved the barndo, plenty of room to park our trailer, spacious living room, the goats out back were so cute. Country charm. Nice stop to rest on our way to and from Colorado.

I think we laterally stayed on a farm.
Super clean and comfortable and the perfect location for the week's activites: North Amarillo, Lake Meredith, Canadian River, Rita Blanca grasslands and Clayton Lake. (Re-living some childhood memories almost 60 yrs later).

Spacious accommodations, but…
The property is spacious, and was very quiet. It is a renovated section of a shop, and as such, has stained concrete floors. This along with the other areas are quite rustic in decor. Encompassing the living, kitchen and dining areas, along with a 3/4 bath, the main room has high ceilings and ample seating. A bookshelf and a TV with streaming services round out the space. Wood countertops in the kitchen caused me some concern due to cleaning. All appliances are present, including a countertop microwave and dishwasher. Plastic dishes and some silverware were available. The bathroom has a rusting, rough-textured metal “vanity” with a wash-basin sink. Corrugated metal provides the walls for the shower. An overhead rain shower head with a ball valve (no temp adjustment) is pretty high up - approx. 7-feet. I opted for a washcloth bath rather than using the shower itself. Bedrooms are actually through a door leading into the main shop/garage area. Once through the door, you pass AC equipment and a walkway (10-feet at most) takes you to a door on left for queen sized bed room, and on the right is the room with a king bed. There are no windows in either bedroom and both have low ceilings. A washer and dryer is in the left bedroom. Beds and pillows were not the most comfortable, but bedding was clean and pressed. It was an easy stop off the highway, but pretty basic and rustic, to say the least.

Well appointed, great little spot. Rustic Chic; just what you want out of the Texas countryside. Had a nice little computer work space for laptops, and plenty of room to stretch out!

Great stopping place
We stayed here twice. On our way to CO and return trip. Great location off of the main highway. Easy access and plenty of room for parking a trailer. The shop house is super spacious and the beds are very comfortable. Take some time to LOOK at the cow pick on the wall and see what you see. Awesome place and will stay again.

Great layover for Colorado trips
The home is located in a small farming community out of the way of major traffic. Plenty of parking for trucks with trailers. The living room and kitchen area are large and well equipped. We used this as a layover stop on our way to western Colorado from DFW.

Great Stay in the Texas Panhandle
Karen's property was PERFECT for our stay. We were moving from the DFW area to Colorado, and there was more than enough parking for our 3 vehicles, including a 26-foot Uhaul and our other two vehicles that were each towing a trailer. There were 6 of us, and we had no problems getting a good night's rest, and we really enjoyed the peace and quiet (as well as checking out all of the stars in the night sky!). We'd definitely stay here again. Thank you for letting us stay at your property!

Great location but not exactly as described.
The location was great and the owner was easy to communicate with on our stay. We felt very safe. One thing to note is that the bedrooms are not off of the main living area. They are separate inside of the shop, so if you have young kids or pets, this might be something to note. The kitchen needs a little work. Sink faucet needs to be fixed and the stove needs a really good cleaning.

The shop house was great. Perfect spot if driving from DFW to Colorado. It felt private yet was not too far off the main road. Enjoyed our short one night stay while driving through.

Great place to stop over on our way to Colorado.
This was a great place for us to stay the night on our way to Colorado from DFW. The shop guest room was clean and had everything needed for our stay. The bedroom was super quiet which helped us get a good nights sleep before hitting the road in the morning. We will definitely stay here again.

Not Exactly What The Listing Depicts …
We feel it’s important to point out some things for future possible renters of this property. The listing does not depict the following: Bedrooms are not w/in the actual living/dining/bathroom space… felt as tho we were invading the private space in the main pole barn if we were to use the bedrooms (bedroom TV’s did not work) … Bathroom lighting way too dim for men to shave/or make-up application… If you are not about 6’ tall you cannot reach the lever to turn on/off shower water lever above your head; pump handle for bathroom bucket sink was very difficult to use … As another reviewer stated … it’s a glamping/rustic property.
