We stayed at the Sylvan Park Boarding House in Nashville this weekend, and y’all…what a find! First of all, the location. We loved Sylvan Park. So many great restaurants nearby, sidewalks and bike lanes, mature trees, green space—it felt like an actual neighborhood instead of just a place tourists sleep between trips downtown. We could walk out the door and go somewhere good to eat, then come back and sit on the big front porch for a while, which we did. Several times. And the boarding house itself was SO nice. The bedding felt luxurious, the shower was huge, the towels were thick and plush, and we had a mini fridge in our room. The dining room stayed stocked with snacks and drinks for guests throughout the day, which was such a nice little touch. But let's talk about breakfast. We expected "breakfast included." We did not expect BREAKFAST. It was so much better than we anticipated and just added to the whole experience. I think what I loved most was that it didn't really feel like staying at a hotel. It felt a little more like staying in a beautiful old Nashville house where somebody had thought through all the things that would make you comfortable and then left you alone to enjoy them. We spent more time than I expected sitting on that porch, watching people walk and bike through the neighborhood and just enjoying being there. Definitely one of those places that becomes part of the trip instead of just where you sleep at night.

What an amazing location! A little difficult to get in and out of, but worth it. Michael was amazing help and friendly. It's more like you're staying at home. There are only two floors to the hotel. Had some trouble figuring out the TV situation and you will need accounts to watch certain things as is the norm nowadays. The exterior windows a little disappointing cobwebs which marred a spectacular view. I had a Riverview room and it is worth it. The decor and everything inside the room amazing brick wall a sink like a mini kitchen. The water faucet was loose and need some repair. I was not able to get the Wi-Fi to ever work and this could have been my fault but I don't have any trouble normally. Very safe and secure and again if you want to be near the action on Broadway but not too close, this hotel is at the very end of all of it. One of the best hotel experiences I have ever had. Ice machine was working and easy access a little disappointed that the sky rooftop area was closed on Saturday night for a private event which it was Labor Day weekend I thought that was not fair to the other guests. The service from the staff was just incredible. Couldn't figure out how to use the little lights on the bed and overall the lighting situation was a little bit confusing with dimmers but excellent lighting. I don't normally do hotel reviews but this one deserves it while imperfect, it was just an amazing stay!
