Definitely recommend.

The hotel needs a makeover and a deep clean. Receptionist got the date of our ferry booking wrong. The booking was related to the roof top pool being closed (mid summer) so they ran a ferry to the beach as compensation. Fine if the date was right. The lobby WC was a mess in the morning when we were checking out. Bed linen seemed to have high man-made fibre % Fine if that's your thing.

Queues for everything here. Checking took nearly an hour, queues for sun beds, for food (I’ll get to the food), for drinks (you can get only 2 drinks per person, so a family of 4 need 2 members to go to the bar). Always running out of drinks around the pool. The food was terrible. I stayed for 6 days and ate in the hotel only 4 times. The worst cuts of “meat” used which resulted in mainly bones. Oh and the “kebab hut” took 30 mins to queue up for and 1 per person. So again, if the family want to eat from a snack bar they all need to queue for half an hour together. Really not what you expect from a hotel billing themselves as 4 star. Staff didn’t want to help with anything. Bars closed at 11, but last orders at 10.30 and lights turned off and kicked out at 11. You can then head to the piano bar, but must pay for the same drinks that you were just consuming in the beach bar. Additionally a security guy (PSG logo on T-shirt) would come around the pool each day at 4pm and aggressively “police” what was happening: people messing about in the pool, throwing a ball in the pool (yes! A ball!), sitting on the side of the pool drinking. All things that people were allowed to do for the 7 hours that not a single staff member was there, but at 4pm suddenly there were rules. The staff were predominantly not Portuguese and there was a huge language barrier. Don’t stay here

Buffet breakfast was excellent, serving everything you would want. We didn’t have half board and used the Primadonna Italian restaurant and Cocos Portuguese restaurant over the 5 nights we stayed. Both were excellent. Plenty of sunbeds around the pool. After midday, the young lads from the bar were very friendly and helpful serving the poolside. Beach was 200m 5 minutes to walk along the wooden boardwalk.

This resort was absolutely amazing. It was spotlessly clean and hygienic and the golf prices were incredibly affordable, making it possible to play every day. Children were welcome to use the driving range or the nine-hole course, both of which were excellent. The food options weren’t the best overall but La Grill, the flagship restaurant, was outstanding. It didn’t disappoint and I’d love to return. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating throughout, always helpful. The pool was a great size with a deep and shallow end, catering to both children and adults. There was a pool bar nearby and unlike many other resorts, the pool beds didn’t have towels on top. Instead, staff provided cushions upon arrival and returned them upon departure, ensuring we always had a sunbed. The location was convenient, allowing easy access to various destinations. However, Uber was incredibly cheap and Uber Eats offered a wide range of food options. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel and would definitely return in the future.

The hotel was beautifully set up but to walk to the beach was over 100 steps. I do think people traveling with young children or elderly could struggle with getting down to the beach. Getting clean towels for the pool/beach was difficult. They said housekeeping would change them but for us we were already out of the room before they came. My daughter asked the front desk for new towels and she refused to give new even though there were a pile at the front desk. That being said we went 4 days with dirty sand towels. On day 5 we ran into housekeeping who let us swap them out.
