Excellent Family holiday staying at Penina. Relaxing hotel with friendly helpful staff. Warm welcome on arrival with a glass of port and overview of the hotel. Really nice way to start our stay. Great facilities for kids and adults with tennis courts, jogging track, driving range, golf courses, large pool and multiple dining options. Played Championship course twice and enjoyed - greens, tees and fairways all in good order and great value for money. My son and I also had excellent golf lessons with Jose Lourenco - knowledgeable, friendly, genuine passion for what he does. All golf staff were excellent, really welcoming and friendly. Special shout out to Sandra, Carlos and Vasco. Excellent breakfast buffet and omelette station, the Italian restaurant, Cotton Clubhouse bar and the pool bar all good too. In all areas the service was very good and were brilliant with my sons (11 and 5) Great bonus having access to the Dunas beach club at Alvor beach with 50% discount on sun loungers and umbrella ( €10 for 1/2 day) and free towels, private beach bar also excellent. Easy 10 minute commute to Alvor, which is a really nice coastal town with cobbled streets, and an excellent range of restaurants. Would definitely recommend this hotel if staying in the area due to facilities, service and easy commute to Alvor. Thank you all at Penina!

Didn't spend a lot of time inside the hotel because there are so much to see in Algarve. Rooms are really spacious and clean with a huge balcony. A relaxing stay except the buffet dinner where you have to check in with the receptionist and then queue at a certain area to wait for seating. Food (not so hot) and ambiance are totally canteen-like. The next day we spent some more to eat at the Japanese restaurant next door which is good in terms of food and service - but you only get 15 Euro credit each person so it only covered like less than half of the bill. Front desk staff can be more proactive. If you do not have a car I guess it might be hard to get around the city.

非常超值，景觀非常好，房間更是超乎想像的棒。尤其，服務人員提供非常棒且細膩的服務。惟一可惜的是，我們此次沒空在其餐廳用餐。

I've read some odd reviews so here's my take. This is definitely a 5 star family resort. We loved it. The setting is beautiful, staff super friendly, lovely beach and the restaurants were all great - particularly the one on the beach. We stayed in a townhouse for 7 nights which worked perfectly for us, as it gave us plenty of room, separate parent and children bedrooms, a lounge area for family games at the end of each day and a kitchen for a bit of laundry, snacks and coffee. There was a seating area outside but we didn't use it much. We paid for half board which worked well for us. It was a bit of a faff having to book places and most restaurants had a small extra cost for more expensive food and drinks (plus tips) but worked out just about fine for us. We didn't find the restaurants that busy and service was excellent. Overall, a wonderful holiday. If I was being picky, I'd say the cleaners left things out on show which didn't feel 5 star, the cleaning was a little random (towels etc.), the gnats need to be sorted or screens used (bit of a nuisance), and better lighting for the main entrance when venturing out and about. But I'd definitely recommend this place - 100%
