Property is huge and tons to do. Was very disappointed we couldn’t use the beach at all but nothing could be done about the seaweed. Our Concierge Raul was great and took care of all our needs. We did have staff come into our room when we had the do not disturb on the door so that didn’t make us too happy but over all Highly recommend

Room ac didn’t work well also the room had so much moisture in it they had to bring in a dehumidifier and the room stunk the mildew. The pool side service was ok but not great. Would be nice if all restaurants were open every night and you can wear nice khaki shorts and collar shirts instead of pants everywhere

I had a very disappointing experience at Playacar Palace and would never stay here again. The biggest issue was the terrible customer service. The hotel had extremely low water pressure throughout our stay, making it difficult to shower or even use the sink properly. On top of that, there was a horrible odor coming from the seaweed along the beach. The smell was overwhelming, and the beach was completely closed, which defeated one of the main reasons we chose this resort. Because the hotel had very low occupancy, the food selection was also very limited. There was very little variety compared to what you would expect from a resort at this price point. When I decided to check out early because of these issues, the hotel refused to provide any refund. Instead, they offered to transfer us to another one of their properties—but only if we paid an additional charge. They wouldn’t even cover the taxi between their own hotels. To make matters worse, they told us the taxi would cost only $95, but the actual fare was $130. The impression I was left with is that once they have your money, they have very little interest in taking care of their guests or making things right. Instead of acknowledging the problems and trying to resolve them fairly, they simply shifted the cost and inconvenience onto us. I cannot recommend this hotel based on our experience. There are many better options in Playa del Carmen that value their guests and provide the level of service you would expect.

My husband and I take trips to the Caribbean once a year. We typically don't consider going to the same place twice. However, our stay at the Blue Diamond has made us rethink that decision. The customer service, facility, and food were amazing. The food always tasted so fresh and the Mexican dishes were particularly fantastic. Our experience is definitely a memory we won't soon forget. This was hands down one of our best travel experiences.

Very disappointed with our stay. This resort did not meet the expectations of an all-inclusive vacation. The front desk and management were not accommodating and constantly tried to nickel-and-dime guests. Our A/C didn’t work, and we were told we could move rooms only if we paid extra. We requested two queen beds but were only offered two doubles or one king. The room had ants in the bed, the bathroom was extremely small, and there was little to no privacy because the shower/changing area faced a stairwell window. The pool was always dirty. The beach was unusable due to excessive seaweed and a horrible smell, which was never disclosed before our trip. The food was mediocre, and the “all-inclusive” package was misleading. We could only dine at two specialty restaurants; after that, additional visits cost extra, leaving the buffet as the only free option. There were no comfortable indoor, air-conditioned areas to escape the heat besides our room. Even the lobby and restaurants were hot. While a few staff members were pleasant, most were rude. The only time we experienced good customer service was when someone was trying to sell us something. Overall, poor hospitality, extra charges, cleanliness issues, and misleading advertising made this a vacation we would not recommend.

Resort was OK. At least one of the restaurants was closed every night while being fully occupied which we thought was cheap. The beach was full of seaweed and the nightly entertainment was average at best but if you’re looking for a mid-level old-school Holiday Inn this is the type stay, this is for you. The local resort staff was incredible more than accommodating and would totally go out of their way to help you which was great.
