Weekend getaways in Rotorua

The location is very convenient, and the property has been newly renovated. The interior is clean, modern, and stylish. The staff were friendly and even offered us vouchers for local activities, which was a lovely surprise. There were only two minor drawbacks. First, in our room type, all the bedrooms were upstairs while the only toilet was downstairs, which was a little inconvenient, especially at night. Nice quiet neighborhood.

Dave and Shami are wonderful hosts at this bed and breakfast in a quiet neighborhood in the hills above Rotorua. Delicious breakfast too!

This place was very positive experience and we would stay again. A pleasure to meet the Hosts, pictures are exactly as they appear. Quiet neighborhood, parking easy, and all amenities that you need. Close to downtown, the geothermal spa, and ice cream parlor! Love Rotorua!

Our check-in felt a bit awkward—we were told many (many) times how the property and views are “quite stunning” as we were shown around. Everything else was very nice. Room had a great view, and we really liked the breakfast (and breakfast staff). Parking on the hill was tricky!

Loved the private outside hot tub, completely private . Plenty of water to fill it between uses. The room is spacious. The bathroom was modern and the shower impeccable with glass enclosure. We always bring the our own coffee machine but there were other options for coffee. It was close to all amenities and attractions. The staff was super accommodating. I did t use the stove but fridge was spacious for our needs.

Hotel was great. Full breakfast delivered to room, wi-fi access for multiple devices and a self-serve laundry room made for a wonderful stay.

My fiancé and I absolutely loved the black swan hotel!! Such a relaxing environment to unwind after a busy travel day or activities around Rotorua. Would 1000% recommend!

People in the hotel was very nice. Hotel is located in the town centre. You can go to bus centre, shopping streets, several sightseeing places within 30 min walking distance. No glass/cup in the washing room probably due to New Zealand custom. We took a glass out of 3 glasses from kitchin. Next day, only 2 cups remain in the kitchin. Next day only 1 glass remaind in the kitchin. We claimed this when check-out. They explained us that maid puts glasses in the dish washer in the kitchin...

We stayed in the white room with the purple/plum attached bathroom that included a private patio. This room was like time-traveling into 40s-60s luxury. Beautiful moldings. Gorgeous built-in cabinets and shelving. The place isn't perfect, but it was impressive. I thoroughly enjoyed the stay, and if you're a fan of mid-century deco, you'll love staying in this room.

Waterfront BnB with free kayaking and tennis. 10 minutes drive to city center which is nice as it keeps you out of the sulfur smell but still close to everything. Hosts are very nice. Multiple delivery services can be used for dinner.

I had a room where 3 of the 5 walls were full windows to the walkway to all the rooms. This gave a lot of light and good views, but also meant anyone could see into the room, so I mostly just shut all the curtains the whole time. Parking was very good, and the room was very large. Shower in bathroom was set up as a jacuzzi-shower, so there wasn't walls keeping the water in the tub very well. Staff was friendly and provided amenities even upon late arrival
