Fun hotel with lots to do...or just relax

Posted May 27, 2015
Pros: Nice ocean beach or your choice of pools. Food was good and the free drinks were good. No need to leave resort with all the activities.
Cons: If you need anything from housekeeping...expect a long wait if they even show up. Go and ask for anything at the front desk or concierge.
Aside from a few small details, the 10 day stay at this hotel was very pleasant. The variety of pools made it it enjoyable to be away from the younger rowdier pool area and find a spot that better fit our age group. The evening shows were very nice and made for a more enjoyable experience. Even the daytime clowns around the pool areas were funny and good for a laugh or two. my wife enjoyed the pilates and youga in the mornings. The food was very good. I know this is a mater of taste, but trust me, with all the chiices they have for dining, you will always find something you like. Cocoa's and the White Box offered very nice meals. Plan on spending an hour to dine. If you are into Fusion, they had a nice Mexica/Asian fusion restaurand and all the restaurants on the south end of the property were great. The sushi restaurant was exceptional. We did a couple tours. Be advised that the tour guides are there to sell. They all did a great job, but don't feel obligated to buy. The XCaret park was fun. Don't buy the suntan lotion or mosquito spray. Didn't see one mosquito. Lots to do there, but they are all a bit pricey. The river excursion is free and worth doing. We loved that. The evening show there is a very well done show as well. The wearher for May was perfect. Between 80 and 90 all the time with cool breezes off the ocean. We would spend the morning st the ocean and the afternoon at the pools. The free drinks were good. Wine was not good but drinkable.

Do not go outside of spring break!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted May 25, 2015
Pros: Not much. There were some shows in the evening time in the main lobby which was nice.
Cons: the service needs a major upgrade
Location: not much to do near by, about 30 min cab ride ($20 us) to the main clubbing area (The city, coo bongo etc.). Even further to go into town.
Stayed at grand oasis, was quite disappointed. I have been to cancun before, stayed at Riu Cancun. - Decent amount of restaurants, but they will not customize any meals - There was construction going on in my hotel, I was woke up by LOUD banging and jack hammers every morning between 9 to 10 am. Had to leave the room it was that loud. - The bars and clubs in the evening have terrible service. Literally 1 bar tender for about 200 people, took about 30 mins to get a drink. You can only get 2 drinks at a time. - The pool bars close at 5, too early. - Room service is slow and did not show up for 3 of the 7 days I was there. - On check-out day I had a shuttle coming in at 1:10. They charge you for temporary passes after you check out. So if you want to eat after checking out (checkout time is 12) you have to pay extra. Unheard of.

Nice hotel with pool and close to beach

Posted May 22, 2015
Hotel was nice. They say it is all inclusive but you need to pay for wifi, some resturants and the security box in the room, which should have been included. Some of the staff (bartenders, front desk and waiters) need to work on their hospitality and friendliness. All the staff worried about was tips. But a nice hotel. Staff needs better managment in customer service.

Posted May 18, 2015

Wonderful Experience. What a deal.

Posted May 18, 2015
Pros: The entertainment options were amazing.
Cons: The rooms, the quality of the beds. BD Travel could be much better (they call at 8:30am! crazy!)
Location: You don't need to go any where outside the resort. Everything is there. If you do...take the bus since taxis to downtown are extremely expensive!!!
Grand Oasis is for sure a super deal in Cancun. With offers for everyone in the family and outstanding entertainment options there is a diversity that makes this resort very unique. The downs: don't fall into the "gift" trap. You will loose half a morning listening to a sales person trying to convince you about a time share style resort from Dominican Republic. Avoid crew with cacky uniforms. They are sales personnel. Very annoying!. The restaurants are fine but not outstanding by any means. Options are plenty! Sevilla and Rodizzios are the best for dinner and lunch. VIP Lounge the best for breakfast and our very favorites: drinks from Maria Bonita and the one and only Coffee & Me. Avoid: Joys and Red Dragon (Terrible Food!). The amenities are amazing and don't miss any of the shows. Dancers/Singers and acrobats are the best of this resort! Young people and kids will enjoy every single bit of it. For the price, what else could you ask for? More elevators, better rooms provably will help. Enjoy Grand Oasis!

Good entertainment provided at hotel.

Posted May 14, 2015
Pros: The each, the foodandtheentertainment.
Cons: Room service. I don't think we can do much about the size....too big.
Location: We went on tours that traveled between one and two hours away from the hotel. We enjoyed XCaret, a beautiful water park, the pyramids at ChnChen Itza
I found the. Hotel geared more towards the younger crowd because of the size and distances to walk back to our room. Also, there's a lot of stairs. Good exercise but after the third time in one day of walking back and forth, it got tiring. Also, I believe room service suffers because of its hotel size. Twice we requested towels and never got them.
