Not how it used to be

Posted Nov 25, 2014
My friends and I have been staying at this hotel every year for the past 6 years for our annual girls' shopping weekend. This is the first year we felt the quality just wasn't the same. The room was dirty, the beds were uncomfortable, and everything just seemed old and worn out. We were happy with the price of the room, but will probably look elsewhere next year.

Overall, a wonderful stay.

Pros: Clean and courteous.
Cons: Breakfast line should be away from doorway or enlarge doorway.
Location: Shopping, restaurants, Six Flags, and within driving distance to Great Lakes Naval base.
Staff were nice, room was clean & comfortable. Breakfast was good however they need to rework the line for breakfast so that is does not cause congestion in the door way that the two adjoining rooms for dining and you are trying to get while others are trying get food items. If they to arrange it so the line was not in the door way it would be an improvement. I would recommend this hotel to stay at. The only other problem I found was hidden guest fee in the billing which added more to my bill for having three adults in the room instead of two. This is first time I have noticed that and will keep a close eye on that in booking any hotel. If the opportunity ever came up for a hotel in this area, I will definitely use this Best Western again!

Fright fest trip

Nice hotel. Walking distance to six flags (even with 6 year old). A little bummed pool wasn't open Sunday before we checked out, maintenance man wasn't in.

Great Stay For Fright Fest

Posted Oct 6, 2014
Pros: Pool, breakfast, easy to get to Great America and Gurnee Mills Mall.
Cons: Pool could stay open later. Couches were a little hard.
Location: Good location. Great America is across the street and Grunee Mills Mall is very close. Alot of places to eat and shop nearby.
This hotel is accross the street from the entry gate for Great America we booked it online for a Saturday night. It was nice to go back and jump in the pool for a little while at the end of the day. The pool is kind of small but it was heated (closed at 11:00). The hot tub is closed. The breakfast was nice because you can just eat at the hotel and go to Great America. After spending all day Saturday and Sunday at Fright Fest we decided to go back to this hotel again and stay one more night. We would go to this hotel again.

Pros: Our room was very clean and very quiet. There were a lot of families there that weekend, but at night you didn't hear any noise. Breakfast was good.
Location: Six flags is close by as is the Huge Gurnee Mills Mall. Easy to get to off of I-94.
In the area for a wedding. The hotel was very clean, as was our room. Quiet at night, and did not hear any outside traffic. Enjoyed being so close to the Gurnee Mills Huge Mall! Plenty of places to eat. It was nice that Breakfast was included at the hotel and they stayed open later in the morning for those of us that like to sleep in a little later :)

Weekend visiting family

Posted Sep 22, 2014
Pros: Has a good breakfast, hot and cold items available. Didn't have to go out, which was nice as we get up at different times. Indoor pool was nice, clean.
Cons: Getting to it is confusing, 3 hotels use the same entrance and you have to cut thru parking lots to get to the entrance.
Location: Right across the road from the entrance to Six Flags. Plenty of restaurants close by and is just off the interstate highway.
the hotel was clean and spacious. Had no problems except the bed lights weren't plugged into the socket, but that was easily taken care of.

Customer Service is Everything

Posted Sep 21, 2014
Pros: Young lady at the from desk was very nice.
Cons: Honesty has to be the first policy. If personal items are in jeopardy then I'd recommend spend your money elsewhere.
Location: Six Flags, Navy RTC.
When we checked in the young lady was very pleasant, amiable and accommodating. She even offered to have some breakfast items out early as our son was graduating from Navy RTC, and we indicated that we were going to get an early start. The room and hotel was clean and relatively comfortable, what I would expect from a Best Western. Sadly, my wife left her Nike Fuel and a sentimental bracelet on the bed. When we called they were gone. Of course we were excited for our son and our items are our responsibility, but honesty, integrity, and safety have to be foremost. If there is any doubt that hotel staff might be taking advantage of guests then that hotel is a "No Go" zone period.

Very Close to Great America!

Posted Sep 19, 2014
Pros: Pool, workout room and location
Cons: breakfast menu and shuttle to Great America
Location: Plenty of restaurants and didn't have to travel far for shopping.
The overall hotel experience was good. The pool was o.k. The gym was o.k. The only thing I didn't like was they served pork everyday on the breakfast menu. The location was great considering we went to Great America. It was around other restaurants. The only problem was the air conditioning. We had to switch rooms 2 different times because the air just wasn't cooling but the hotel was very accommodating.
