Hotel Experience
Posted Jan 29, 2013
Pros: Shoping center, Restaurants are near the Hotel, it was excellent
Cons: Knock door of room before cleaning staff open the doors
Location: Thousand Oaks Hotel
Service staff need to knock the door before they open each room to avoid finding people changing clothes or taking showers, it was inconvinient to have some one opening the door twice before we left the room.

Pleasant Surprise
Posted Jan 31, 2013
Pros: It was quiet and convenient
Cons: The breakfast that was "included" was somewhat meager
Location: Great!
For an older property we were very pleased with the room, the comfort of the bed and the cleanliness of the bathrooms. The shower was wonderful.

Very good staff

Excellent service from staff. Found this inn to be a very nice experience. While it is close to the freeway and the aircon is kind of loud, it was not to the level where it disturbed my sleep. Breakfast was nice and a little better than comparable places.

We have stayed there 15 times. Only once we did not like it, because we were next to the laundry.

Had a nice stay!

Went to spend the weekend at the best Western in thousand oaks. The location was fantastic being that there were malls and shops and restaurants all within walking distance if you wanted. The room was clean and there was a nice sized refrigerator and a good microwave as well as a DVD player in the room which is not very common. The hotel had a DVD library for guests to utilize as well. We didn't see many employees but the little service we received was fair to good. On the downside, we booked our rooms with buffet breakfasts and I must say it was probably the absolute worst breakfast I have ever eaten both in preparation and in taste. Not only was it extremely limited in choice, but when food ran out it took a while to get it replenished. In our opinion, the only real edible item was the toast. If the breakfast is indicative of the type of food that is available in the restaurant I would suggest definitely eating out as there is a plethora of other choices that have very good food. I would stay at the hotel again, but I definitely would not be there.

The microwave sounded like a missile being launched. Had to have it changed. The television and DVD would not work together. Had to have the TV replaced. The replacement TV had a burn hole in the picture. The toilet ran. The staff was very courteous and helpful. However, my overall rating of the night's stay would have to be a 2 at the most

Superb hotel for a sleepover.

Pros: Everything included: parking, internet, breakfast.
Cons: Small room.
Location: I didn't care
Always love Best Western, because everything is always good: parking, Free Wi-Fi, rooms are clean, beds are comfortable, breakfast is good. Rooms are kinda small, but who spends time in a room on a road trip anyway? :)

A very pleasant stay

Pros: Breakfasts...the french toast was great.
Cons: No in-room safe for laptop.
Location: Near US101, but not noisy. Near retail areas in Thousand Oaks.
We had 4 rooms stayed for 5 nights. Two rooms for elderly people and were handicap accessible, 2 others queens. All-in-all the stay was very enjoyable and comfortable. Pros: 1. Front desk staff very accommodating to room shuffling putting us into 4 adjacent rooms. This was great! 2. Rooms very clean, cleaning staff quite pleasant. 3. Lovely interior courtyard open to sky, lots of seating and plantings. 4. Excellent breakfast especially the made-to-order french toast and eggs. Best ever. 5, Rooms were spacious and comfortable. Everything worked. Cons: Minor. 1. The bathrooms in the handicap accessible rooms very small. Not big enough to accommodate a walker much less a wheelchair. 2. Shower in one room did not work properly when the diverter was pulled allowing most of the water to run into the tub and down the drain. Hotel replaced the tub spout in a few hours after we told them about it. Very responsive. 3. Lobby smelled kind of bad, like vomit. There was a party room, a bar, and bathrooms adjacent to the lobby. Perhaps one of these was the source. 4. No safes in room. What do I do with my laptop when away from room? 5. Signage. There are no ground level exterior signs saying "Best Western Hotel" or anything to identify it near the road or on the front of the building. Since the hotel is located on a sharp curve in the road, the only way I knew that we were there was that the GPS kept insisting that "You have arrived at your destination".
