A must stay in Washington

Beautiful hotel with great ammenities. The concierge was over the top helpful with last minute restaurant recommendations and reservations. The hotel restaurant was very good as well. It is so close to Georgetown. Would love to stay there again when in D.C.

Good Deal & Good Choice

Excellent location. Excellent service. Great atrium and bar. Restaurant pricey but good. Only complaint room was not ready by 2:00 pm check in and desk clerk gave a room in low floor instead of top floor with view. Kept on trying to sell us an upgrade.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Just a few blocks from restaurants and shops in Georgetown. Close to Foggy Bottom, Dupont Circle and downtown as well.

A wonderful weekend

A perfect stay at the Fairmont. Everything was lovely from the staff at check-in, to the room, the lobby bar, the restaurant for lunch, housekeeping, to an easy checkout. Location is also absolutely wonderful. Would stay again in a heartbeat.

Beautiful hotel and the friendliest staff ever!

My husaband and I stayed at the Fairmont just outside of Georgetown in July with our teenage daughters. From the minute we walked in the door to the final goodbye we were so impressed with the staff...helpful and genuine. Our interior room was clean and tastful, overlooking the pretty courtyard below. The lobby was impressive. We had drinks and appetizers there... a great experience. The hotel is well located and upkept. The indoor pool with locker room was wonderful. After our swims we showered (shampoo, etc. provided) and changed into our clothes.. ready to go to dinner without waiting for each person to shower in the room. We caught a red, London-style double decker bus on the corner which is a hop on hop off set up. It wisks you to the Mall, all around Georgetown, the Federal Triangle and Ford’s Theatre. It includes a night tour to see the mounments lit up...awesome. We have already recommended The Fairmont Hotel to seveal family members and friends. Can’t say enough good things about it!!

Double decker bus. Bread and Chocolate for breakfast around the corner on 27 Street. Ten minute walk to Georgtown for charming restaurants and shopping.

beautiful hotel

The hotel was lovely. Beautiful, clean and comfortable. The location was great; just a few blocks from the heart of Georgetown. The one problem was the extra charges (overnight parking was tremendously expensive and there was a charge to use the exercise facilities)

Absolutely wonderful!

It is a four star hotel for a reason. Given the expedia deal prices I was able to indulge myself and I’m so glad I did. located close to Georgetown, which is what I needed. The Metro is several blocks away. Given the weather and problems with my hip I used cabs to get to get around. A little more expensive, but worth it to me.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

Sign up on-line for Fairmont’s President’s Club before getting there. Then you’ll have your member# and be able to access the internet in your room without an additional fee. If you enjoy used book stores check out Books for America 1417 22nd St NW. Not much to look at but good quality, great prices and your purchases and/or donations help support literacy. Loved having a Starbucks right across the street and Trader Joe’s one street over.

Good place to stay in Georgetown area

We picked this hotel because of its proximity to Georgetown for a family trip. We spent a week in DC , 3 days at this hotel and then at one closer to city center. Hotel has spacious rooms and staff was courteous and helpful. There is no metro stop nearby so I do not recommend for site seeing the capitol or monuments unless you are cabbing it. It is wonderful for sightseeing and eating out in G’town. The fitness center and spa are very good , the pool is indoor but not a "kid friendly" pool, lots of people swimming for exercise and the kids tend to get in the way. There is a charge per day to use the fitness center and internet. I did not incur these costs at other DC hotels of the same calibur. If you join the Fairmont valued guest program they waive these charges but this was not easy to determine nor was it required at other hotels.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

Definitly join the frequent /valued guest program to save on internet and fitness club services

Very nice hotel

Overall this is a very nice hotel. Good facilities, clean and attentive staff. I would recommend it to anyone. Also, it seems this place is both business and family friendly. Finally, the restaurant in the hotel is very, very good....try the salmon, they know what they are doing!

Traveler's tip on dining

Breakfast at the hotel is expensive, but eating in the outside patio is very pleasant....don’t turn your back on your toast or else the birds will join you.

Perfect location for shopping and Metro

Great hotel. Beautiful lobby area for lounging. A little put off when I wanted to order chocolate chip cookies and milk for my daughter to be sent to the lobby while i had a drink and it caused quite a stir. they did eventually manage it though.

Traveler's tip on shopping

Walking distance to a great street of little shops and restaurants

We will definitely stay there again.

The hotel was more comfortable than we could have hoped for. The staff was helpful and kind, we never lacked for anything or had trouble finding the extra things we needed. We will stay there again most definitely.

very nice

Very clean and nice hotel. It is close to all major attractions. Only thing I can critisize was the ultra small old tv in the room. Other than that everything is high quality...I would definetely stay again.

Traveler's tip on recreational activities

One complaint

Only complaint was a check-in when although I had registered for 2, only one of us was able to make the trip. The clerk was upset that I had not pre-notified them than only one person would be checking in.

Excellent hotel

We enjoyed our stay at the Fairmont and for the price we paid, it was an excellent choice. The hotel is close to transportation and restaurants are close by. We walked from the White House back to the hotel one day -- so not too far from the DC attractions. We had a deluxe room and it was large, clean and very comfortable. The health club was excellent and the staff friendly. We have two kids under 10 and they had a great time. We would stay there again.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

sign-up for their president’s club and the health club and internet access if free. Sign-up is free too.

My wife and I went there for our 20th wedding anniversary. The room was very nice. They sent up chocolate covered strawberries to our room. The Fairmont is a beautiful hotel and the staff is excellent.

Fairmont more than Fair

Great location next to Georgetown allows access without the crowds. Excellent fitness facilities. The Gold level staff is a bit stretched, having to maintain the lounge and take care of guest needs, but did so with little impact.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Ask about fitness facility access in advance!
