LA near the beach
This Hotel reminds you of a place in Europe. As we were greeted the lobby is decorated with rich dark woods, paintings and sculptures The rooms were clean and the beds/pillows were fabulous. The breakfast had all the amenities for a full breakfast. Close by to beach and shopping.
Not to far from the Manhattan Beach although you stil need to drive to it. Parking around the beach is $$$.

Very nice
I would definitely go back. Free parking, free breakfast. The on-site restaurant is very good, but a little pricey.

Clean
This was an excellent hotel. The staff was friendly and the room was clean. The only thing that was a wet blanket was the French toast was a bit greasy.

Lovely Ambience
Ayres Hotel in Manhattan Beach, California is an example of "Old World" grandeur and elegance. We particularly enjoyed having the wedding rehearsal dinner out in the inner courtyard! The food and wine were excellent, service was very good and breakfast in the dining room was delicious. We recommend it highly!

A beautiful and confortable hotel !
It is a beautiful hotel, with a very very good breakfast included and free parking! The service was great. It is very close to some great beaches such as Manhatan beach. It is also very close to LAX and there is a very complete shopping center just crossing the street. A point is that it is not very close to Hollywood or Santa Monica, but any way in L.A. the best is to rent a car, so, location is good enough.

Great Hotel
Convenient location (if you know how to navigate around the 405), moderately priced, good breakfast. Check your bill carefully, however, at checkout. Was charged not once, but twice, for my stay when I had obviously paid for the room through Expedia. Charges were reversed with a couple of phone calls with no real difficulty.

Can’t wait to go back
I absolutely loved this hotel. It was even more beautiful then the pictures shown on the website. Our room was gorgeous, with a big comfortable bed and beautiful decor. The hotel in the restaurant is rather expensive, but absolutely worth it. Our waiter was extremely nice, it has a full bar that will make anything you want, we recieved a completely apetizer and the food was to die for. Best crab cakes I’ve ever had. There is also a complementary breakfast offered. There is no better place to stay then the Ayres hotel. For the price I paid, it was hard to believe I could enjoy the hotel as much as I did. An excellent hotel that I highly recommend.

Aside from the complimentary breakfast, parking is free, with plenty of spaces available.

Nice but noisy
The rooms were nice and well appointed. Service at the front desk was slow despite very few guests waiting. My room looked out over the freeway which created some noise, as did the planes going overhead. However, it is an airport hotel so you should expect that. It was fine for an overnight near the airport.

Quiet and confortable
Plenty of details to make your stay easy and confortable (free parking, washing machine, Microwave oven, swimming pool, ,...). We do liked it.

A little deceiving
Hotel was just like the pictures. Seemed Victorian style but not well maintained. Linens,pillows were not very comfortable and room was damp.AC was off before we arrived and it took awhile to be comfortable. Room I reserved was supposed to have 2 queen beds, instead ,we had one queen and a pull out. Not in bad shape but not what we expected.Kids slept there so no real issue,especially because we only stayed one night. We tried to request extra pillows but phone was not working so I had to chase down the night clerk.

Ayres will be for first choice for LA hotel
The hotel was immaculate from the foyer to the courtyard views to the suite. We had a wonderful time. The full course breakfast was very nice. Book the Ayres Manhatten Beach, you will not be disappointed.

Fancy hotel for a family with a budget. Pool was small but courtyard and facilities were beautiful. Nice room with divider in the middle so kids had their own "side".

Great place to stay for a visit to LA
The hotel is close to LAX airport. It’s a beautiful hotel with a helpful staff. The breakfast was good; lots of choices, although due to high occupancy the coffee run out pretty fast. Great hotel, great rates.

Beautiful hotel, will definately go back
We loved it from the minute we entered. The free breakfast is a definate plus, and parking. It was conveniently located off the hwy. Restaurants and beach nearby. It was very clean and staff was kind and helpful. Most hotels of this caliber charged for parking and/or had valet only for $30-40 per day, and no free breakfast. We will go back and are also planning our next vacation to Long Beach and will stay at the Ayres in that area.

Beatiful
The Hotel is absolutely gorgeous with very comfortable rooms. While in your room and walking around the hotel you’ll think you are in a 5-Star Hotel. Then you go to the parking lot and see Costco across the street and the highway not even a block away and you realize why you were able to spend half the money on a hotel that is twice as nice.
Long Beach has some great activities - check out the Shore-line shops and take out a kayak in the Naples area

Reviews are right
I used the reviews on the Expedia site to make my decision--we were really trying to watch our pennies, yet wanted a nice, safe, comfortable place to stay. The hotel was everything the other reviewers said--clean, beautiful, comfortable, quiet. It is very close to the airport, but you do have to drive to most areas in LA, yet I think you would anywhere you stay In LA. I’d go back.
Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks
Free breakfast (very good!) and free parking in LA. Can’t beat it. Use Sepluveda Drive (sorry about the spelling) instead of the 405. Traffic lights, but less backups and you get to see other parts of LA--some nice, some OK.
