"Older hotel, but remodeled nicely! First room had thre roaches upon entering, told front desk and was quickly moved to a different floor, no more bug sightings. The rest of the stay was comfortable and the beds were nice and clean. Lots of parking, although not enough spots for everyone on site and may have to park in across the street public parking area. Lots of upgrades here, modern decor, clean sheets. Water pressure is OK, water temp OK, tub is nothing special and bathrooms are small but...

"Overall a great spot to watch the ocean in the evening. Condo was clean and located within walking distance to restaurants and coffee shops. "

"This was our second time staying at the Kona Castle Reef . This oceanfront unit was comfortable, tidy and an excellent layout. Some of the lighting fixtures seemed dated and Could use replacement . Having the bbq’s there as an alternative cooking option was fantastic. We can’t wait to visit again next year and hopefully secure the same unit as we did this time ."

I found it strange that the host came by an knocked on the door an hour after we arrived (I had to jump out the shower to answer) and then asked me 5 times to let her know when we planned on leaving via text and with a note even tho the listing said checkout is at 10 am. Was a bit overwhelming and unnecessary. "

"The condo is conveniently located parking was easy people at the desk were friendly. The condo I rented, 207, could use a little updating. It was nice and clean. The view is spectacular. "

There were a few minor issues with the plumbing - bathroom faucet, shower drain and the office was closed during the holiday weekend so we couldn't report until check out. I assume they will be resolved by maintenance right away."

We have stayed in other units but were delighted to find a first floor unit. The good: well equipped, comfortable, plenty of towels, and beach stuff. Nice patio area. The bad: communication was awful. Don't know if the problem is with the owner or RedAwning.
