“We loved the modern cabin and its amenities. Convenient location only 3 miles from Volcano National Park. Not as secluded as you might think - which could be good or bad depending on what you’re looking for… Neighbors were noisy at times and you can hear highway traffic. But you also hear frogs and birds! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend and would book again! ”

“Relaxing two weeks in a mini heaven. Amazing property, clean, well appointed. Close to the volcano, with a pleasant drive down the mountain. The outdoor shower was a plus. We hope to return. ”

Electricity and wifi was unreliable, communication was sub par, and it was quite off the beaten path, but these were minor inconveniences that we took in stride.”

“This place is very rural. Katherine is a very nice host.The unit itself is about 10 ft by 20ft. The inside table for dining is in the photo with a glass top. There are two stools, a coffee maker, a small fridge, and a Queen-sized bed on a platform. The mattress was very comfortable. It might be a bit challenging for older guests to get on the bed. There is an outside table with umbrella and chairs. The stove and sink with utensils and crockery are on a prep surface outside of the bedroom. The...

“Dawn has a lovely property within reasonable driving distance to Hilo, Volcano National Park, and beaches. If you read the description of the property and the reviews, you will not be surprised. Everything you need is there and you get a chance to interact with nature and fellow travelers. For a reasonably priced place to stay in the area, this property checks all the boxes. ”

“We enjoyed Kamaka cabin…the spacious second floor and the loft. The games were very much appreciated… especially since it rained day and night . My only concern the outside light near the stairs going up to the second floor , does not light up. Making it hard to see at night in the dark…we had to use our phones for light . ”

“Christine is very communicative and this is a one of a kind property! The cats ate the best and the thoughtfulness of the design is top notch. We loved all of the ideas about where to go and what to do as well. We had to work a little to figure out how to cool down the rooms quickly but that was more us than the property :). You really felt like you got away from it all!”
