"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the tree house. The property was delightful, and had what we needed. It felt exactly like a home cabin up north, but also completely Hawai’i.The grounds are beautiful, the ambience is relaxing, and the frogs produce a wonderful song all night. Combined with the sound of the ocean, the setting is quite serene. While no property is perfect, I would like to see the lighting improved, such as night lights, but one can’t have everything. "Unique home on a lovely plot of land. Lots of birds, plants, and geckos around the property. The home has everything you need and is a convenient launching point to explore the east side of the island. Less than an hour to Kilauea where we were lucky enough to see a fountain episode. I love quirky houses with a story, this one used to be a water tank that has been built out. Take a morning dip in the hot tub then have breakfast on the lanai. Traffic to and from Hilo can be backed up quite a bit...

"I’ll daydream about returning to this very special property for a long time. It was so unique and beautiful. Very clean, well decorated, and well taken care of. It is secluded & quiet, aside from the welcomed noises of the jungle & the roosters :) the host was wonderful and responsive. The resident kitties, Nala & Torte, were so friendly and interactive. They made the stay all the more special. I would return here in a heartbeat & will forever be thankful for our stay here. "

"Good value budget hotel right on the bay in Hilo. The property is quite old, showing wear but room was clean, comfortable with fresh towels, shampoo etc, all the basics you need. It's classic old school ceiling fan and air vents rather than AC. There is occassion airport noise. Hilos airport is close to town so you can hear it as many locations, but airport isnt that busy. The hotel is not flashy at all but good value for those on budget given location. My rooms balcony directly overlooked shoreline."

"We absolutely loved our stay here. It truly felt like a home away from home and was the perfect place to unwind after long days exploring. The space was clean, comfortable, and equipped with everything we needed to make our stay enjoyable. There was plenty of room for our family of four, and the location was convenient to many places on the east side of the island. The host was also very responsive and quick to answer any questions we had."

"it’s a nice location, but there’s a lot of construction going on not only in the surrounding landscape but also inside the hotel. There’s a resort fee being charged every day and it’s really just a simple pool. Nothing fancy I wouldn’t say it’s really a resort. A resort really does have quite a few other amenities. There’s only one restaurant and room service only comes every other day. also, for those people who are in a balcony room in the front of the hotel, you’re going to hear a loud buzzing noise every time he goes, sit on the patio from some transformer downstairs."

"Beautiful views, nice location. Hosts are nice. There was a nice and unexpected welcome gift. House is stocked well with everything you need. Home needs some maintenance. Screens have large holes which wasn’t an issue until the last night. Griddle provided and range had heating elements that did not work. Pool is not heated, so very cold with all the rain."
