Great spot

Posted Jul 21, 2017
Pros: The hotel is clean and airy and the staff were great. We arrived several hours early and they let us check in early for free.
Cons: It is a little dated & to be fair needs updating as wear and tare are taking hold. Room service food options would benefit from some baguette options
Location: Transport options are accessible but takes just as long as walking, though that is the situation with Amsterdam in general. 15mins car transfer.
Had a great few days here and being so ideally situated added to our enjoyment. The location was great for getting to all of the larger museums (Van Gogh, MOCA, Rijksmuseum); also thou walking to anywhere is about 20-35mins within reach. Such as the Anne Frank House or the Red Light District.

Good Location in Museum Quarter

Posted Jul 4, 2017
Pros: Location
Cons: Hotel is ready for a refurbishment.
We stayed in the hotel four nights in a superior room. It was large but the entire hotel is getting tired and dated. Good location for the Museum Quarter area. Easy to take tram to centre of Amsterdam. Breakfast is what you usually get in European hotels.

Very old and dated for the price

Posted Jun 30, 2017
Expedia should not recommend this hotel. The expedia pictures are not what you pay for. The carpets are stained, hallway is nasty, holes in the sheets, no drawers for clothing, and curtains are worn. This was a $345 per night room that was less quality than a 2 star. No decent cable channels--not even CNN. This is not a 4 star-- 2 star!

Nice hotel quiet location

Posted Jun 10, 2017
Pros: The quiet location and friendliness of the staff.
Cons: It was always warm in the hotel. The air conditioning didn't cool the room enough although we could open the windows.
Location: Location good in the museum quarter very close to Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh Museum. Quiet but also quite close to restaurants and bars.
Very friendly staff, exceptionally helpful. Hotel not too central but close enough to walk to everything. Nice and quiet away from any noise. Lovely location in the museum quarter. Had a lovely time.

Faulty aircon

Posted Jun 2, 2017
Size and facilities in room were good. Bed was very comfortable. Decor looked a bit tired but that was not really a problem. The issue was that the aircon made a lot of noise but did nothing - so the room was extremely hot and windows could not easily be opened. The staff knew that but did not warn guests. Our friends complained and were given a fan which helped a little. On checkout we were told that the aircon would be fixed in a week! Otherwise, the location was good. Near to the top museums, classy shops and some good restaurants. Short tram ride into the centre or a longish walk if you prefer. Breakfast expensive but Small Talk Earing House only a short walk and good value for Amsterdam.

Pros: Location and staff
Cons: Air conditioning is adequate, but not great.
Location: Location is excellent. Steps away from major museum and even a grocery story.
