Arrive outside the museum and admire the rustic wooden design that paints a retro chic picture. Railway lines add an industrial feel in front of the façade, which serves as a contrast to the modern and spacious white-walled rooms within.
Enter the warehouse and learn about the themes of the different exhibits, which tend to focus on politics and society. Check the schedule for dramatic performances and music recitals. You’ll also find a variety of intriguing panel discussions and film screenings. Put forward your own works of art in the museum’s regular Call for Entry programs.
Purchase all types of fashionwear, water bottles and other items displaying the museum’s logo. The complex was founded in 2001 in a converted warehouse, which today lies in the heart of the Chase Park Warehouses artistic district. Explore the area for its range of artist and recording studios. Enjoy a meal at the Pulaski Heights Barbecue in the same building as the museum and join a session at Rubber Soul Yoga next door.
Note that the museum opens during exhibitions Wednesday through Sunday from afternoon to early evening. The schedule features around seven major exhibitions each year, including an annual competition.
