The rate was low so...I guess I got what I paid for. Yes, COVID-19 has changed things but...it just seemed a bit over the top. I had a car accident while in Austin and was on the phone with my insurance. I suddenly looked for a pen in case I needed to write something down - no pen, no paper. I got in at 9:06 one night...I needed some food because I needed to take some medication - closed (seemed a bit early). I ordered food the first night - I don't normally complain about food but...it was pretty bad. Upon sign in I had to initial about their "cleanliness policy" (due to COVID) and I was fine with that...but if they're so intent on cleaning, why did I find at least 4, long, dark hairs on my bedspread? There were stains on the furniture and spots on the carpet. The WiFi barely worked and often if I could even get on I would stare at a white screen. The light in the bathroom was so dim I almost went out and bought a lamp. I am all for conservation and using compact flourescent bulbs (I guess LEDs were not in the budget) but this was a little ridiculous. Pray no one opens the door if you happen to be on the toilet - you won't have knees left - yes, the bathroom is THAT small. The hair dryer has two settings as most do - but these were "the same air you could blow from your own mouth" and "burning flames of hell." It's generally a nice hotel, the staff was friendly and I'm honestly not "that guy" that writes a lot of bad reviews - in fact, quite the opposite.
