“A truly exceptional find this little gem of a pub hotel in a beautiful location in Norfolk. Stayed in a cabin and it was lovely, clean and well presented, the bed was very comfortable and bathroom well appointed. Staff were very friendly and helpful, the breakfast options were very good we had the full breakfast which was excellent, the evening meal was delicious, the pies are out of this world. Can’t fault this pub and can’t recommend it enough. Will definitely stay there again. ”

“We stayed for an event at UEA and the location was perfect for this. Setting was beautiful in a small village with a river running through -great for an evening stroll. Our bedroom was very very close to the road which becomes a commuter cut through in the mornings. This did lead to some unwelcome traffic noise from around 530am. ”

West Lodge - open garden The lawn. The grounds are not open to the public but on the occasion of an Open Garden charity event the public is given the opportunity to view the 9 acre gardens that surround this stately home. A survey published by the Norfolk Gardens Trust in 1997 lists a number of sites of particular historic importance, one of these being West Lodge. The Georgian House with 17th century origins is surrounded by a nine acre garden with lawns, mature trees, a rose garden, herbaceous borders, an ornamental pond and a 19th century walled kitchen garden which is still being maintained as such.
