"When you stay at a 3star hotel you may expect bazillion faulty+manwel exactly the opposite All staff were smartly dressed in uniform Helpful setting of hotel amazing Rooms very adequate Breakfast amazing rate it more than 3 stars will stay again"

"Check in and out brilliant. Car parking very easy. Service efficient and polite. Building itself has a real ambience of slightly faded glory which we found interesting and a nice change from modern hotels. However, we came in a heatwave and whilst the public rooms were cool enough, the bedroom was rather too warm and no obvious means to control the heat. Windows too heavy to open.n"

"Excellent room, view to side and park at front. Only downside heated towel rail in bathroom, due to extreme heat we have been experiencing it’s a shame this could not of been turned off. Brilliant location for all amenities. Staff very friendly and helpful with local information and advising where to visit if you fancy going further afield, we visited Knaresborough and York both using public transport very cheap and run every 15 mins. Would definitely stay again."

"Is easy to miss as satnav takes you to the carpark behind so beware its on the main road, staff directed us into the hotel via a phone call and opened the gate to parking, there were about 3 spaces left which were a little tight but managed it ( we didn't realise if booked direct it's free, £10 booking through 3rd party site ) but after checking in with the lovely receptionist was told as it was a Saturday and no check in on the Sunday we could leave our car as long as we wanted rather than at check out on the Sunday. Room was on 2nd floor it was quite warmup there as it was in at the top of the building but it was very clean and adequate for our one night stay, unfortunately only one cup was there for a double room and I'm sure if we had asked we could have another but we managed as we had bottled water due to the heat . The hotel was a very short walk into York and the minister an absolute ideal location, we loved York with its history and great shops and restaurants. The breakfast next morning was great , plenty full and the continental variety was fantastic . The staff were so friendly and your refillable coffee/ tea was never empty , Richard the server was just so lovely we had a good giggle with him when I got our room number wrong giving him 81 ( which was actually the table number at the pub the night before and had stuck in my head 😀) . I'd highly recommend the hotel on the grounds of location, friendliness, cleanliness and food , I would book again"
