“Charming historic country pub draped in wisteria at this time of year. Our room was in a modern courtyard which blended very well with the original building. Room clean and well planned. Excellent breakfast - nice thick bacon and delicious sausages. ”

“Very nice place, bedroom was spacious, , bed was very comfortable, bathrrom had a bath with a rain shower, complimentary toiletries. Tv, radio, ironing board, hairdryer, towels in room. Complimentary tea, coffee, hot chocolate , sparkling and still water. Plenty on the breakfast menu to choose from. Restaurant menu looks nice i didnt have a meal as was visiting family. Car parking available. Need to book in advance as it us a very popular place. Would of stopped 2 nights if there had been……

“Great place to stay if you’re off to the races, 15mins by car or Taxi. The pub does not provide a breakfast but their evening meals are good, and the staff are friendly. The rooms are at the back of the pub and have ensuite bathrooms, tea, coffee and water bottles in the mini fridge. The linen and towels were all fresh and the bed very comfortable. ”

“After meeting our friends and spending an evening in Cambridge we returned to the crown and punchbowl for a night cap before bed and and found the bar was shut up and all staff had gone home. It was 10.45pm. So our evening ended quite abruptly. Our room which was on the first floor, was a little on the small side, with only a skyline window, and unfortunately the blind didn't keep the light out, so it was very bright at 5am. Also I feel the pillows could be better quality. We have stayed at the……

“The management team is very friendly and helpful but security sense is not sufficient as the cleaning lady forgot to close the windows. If you do not request too high standard of room service, it would be a good choice.”
