Nice hotel in a nice area

Property, cleanliness, friendliness of staff is excellent. I did not appreciate the “surprise” junk fees at check out masking as resort fees. There is no pool, no hot tub, no shuttle, no newspaper provided (things resorts actually get away with charging resort fees for) no apology, no explanation, just jack your credit card.

Beautiful historic old building, with significant attention paid to historical preservation in conversion to hotel. Quiet, relaxing atmosphere in lobby and contiguous rooms. The advertised “view of Millennium Park” was exaggerated, actually only possible if one kneels on the sofa and cranes your neck. Shower is problematic as the glass enclosure leaks, creating a huge puddle extending across the entire room to the toilet. It took 5 large bath towers to sop it up. Otherwise we had a pleasant stay.

The location of the hotel right off Michigan Avenue was perfect. Public parking right across the street. The hotel is fresh and new. Many staff available to assist. Do not skip the complimentary breakfast! I would easy pay $20 for that breakfast as it had everything from fresh fruit, real eggs, pastries, even a coffee cream warmer/frother machine for the great coffee!

This is my go to place in the south suburbs.
