“A very impressive site as you drive in from the entrance. A well presented stately hotel doubling as a Golf bar and restaurant which makes perfect sense. It appeared to be reasonably well supported and obviously a very popular wedding venue too. Only had a couple of nights here and didn't use the restaurant as we were being hosted by friends who had recommended the place. Somewhat aged and a little tired butt well presented and great staff to assist. Would definitely go back there.”

“The Woolly Sheep is a lovely base for a trip to Skipton and the surrounding area. The rooms are spacious, well decorated and maintained with plenty of storage available should you need it. The restaurant and bars are comfortable and the food is very good. Being summer, we made use of the outside courtyard to sit and enjoy a lovely glass of chilled wine! The bars must also be lovely and cosy in the winter so that may warrant another trip. The staff are excellent, helpful and friendly. One thing……

“Nothing the property was amazing. Walk inside enjoy a drink and relax”

“The best asset of the property is its location. Specially, if you have a room facing the canal site, which is quieter the staff are very friendly and enthusiastic to help. That does not overcome the fact that if you have a room on the third floor you have to lugg your suitcase, up four flights of stairs. Rooms start on the second floor. You want room the second floor . I did not have hot water for my shower and did report this to the staff, but there was no resolution. I did however have hot……

“Lovely hotel / pub in a very scenic location. Beautiful views. We had 2 cottages for our extended family group of 7 adults/ 4 children. Spent the afternoon enjoying the patio drinks and watching the water flow. Had a delicious Sunday dinner in the lovely upper dining room. Beds were comfortable and had everything we needed . Would definitely stay again .”

“Staff are not friendly !”

“Worst place with the worst attitude manager. Stayed here before we flew the next day. Spa wasn't open as work was going on. That was fine, however I ran a bath and the water was brown with lots of dirt in. Ran the shower. Exactly the same. Went to reception to be told nothing they could so. Requested a refund as this was unacceptable to be put in a room with no working water. Got £50 pound back. I wasn't happy with this so spoke to the manager the next morning who was very defensive and said……

“Lovely cooked breakfast, basic cereals & yogurts. Dinner was good, food nicely cooked and presented, staff were very friendly and helpful. Bedroom clean and very comfortable. Happily recommend. ”

“My husband and I stayed two nights in June while exploring the Yorkshire Dales. The location is excellent, in a quintessential Dales village, with a number of fun shops and eateries. The room was simply furnished but perfectly adequate. Be aware there are a number of steps, and the tub/shower is deep to step into, so not a good choice if you have accessibility issues.”

“The restaurant was closed. Ni one answered the phone. Curtains didn’t fully shut. No soap. Cold shower in morning. No one manning breakfast. Had to knock on staff door to get tea. Guy hadn’t a clue even put the milk in the teapot. Continental breakfast just had a few children’s type cereal toast bowl of fruit yogurt. No milk out to have on cereal. Had to chase that up. One guest had slug in bedroom. Another bought their own bits in to have with breakfast”
