(1,003 reviews) This is a beautiful hotel with beautiful English gardens. The renovated rooms are clean and well appointed. Bedding and comfort is excellent. The downside of this hotel is that unless you opt for what they call the Butler service, you will not get a poolside lounge chair in a good location. The pool is situated on the grounds in a way that they're not many chairs that have sun for most of the day. The butlers are out at six in the morning, reserving these chairs for the people that pay for their service as well as the "owners" of some units. It's easier to get a lounge chair on the beach, but it feels like the chairs are lined up like you're on a cruise ship very close to each other and not very appealing. The beach chairs have no cushions on them. The beach is not raked on any regular basis so there are piles of dried seaweed all over. The island itself is very expensive. First time I've been to a country where the taxis charge by person instead of by car. Most rides charged between $6 and $10 a person for a ride of 5 to 6 minutes. We've been to some of the most highly rated restaurants on the island as well as some more casual places. They were all uniformly overpriced, by New York suburban standards, and offered mediocre to pretty good quality. You will be paying a lot for not exceptional food. I cannot recommend this hotel, nor the island. (77 reviews) I usually read all the reviews to get my opinion on resorts I should stay at. Some reviews are up and down. But I take them with a little grain of salt. That being said. I wanted to share mine. Which I usually don't do. We had a wonderful stay here. The resort is beautiful. The rooms are clean. The staff is great. The cleaning people are sweet and helpful. The butlers are awesome and help with any questions or help set up your excursions. The water is beautiful. Was a little rough while we were there so we went to the other side of the island and were in calmer waters. The pool and jacuzzi near our room was great. There's also one by the beach which is nice. Food was so so. It's so expensive. My kids are so picky so it was difficult to satisfy all of them. My husband and son did utilize the grocery shuttle and did some shopping. Again it's expensive. But it is what it is. That's the whole island not just one specific place. Everything has to be shipped in. I did use swift eats and ordered food from one of the restaurants and it was good. Somewhere restaurant on the beach was really good. The snorkeling excursion was awesome. My husband and kids loved it. I enjoyed staying on the boat in the sun. Iguana island was cool. I also did the clear kyack photoshoot it was a cool experience. Travel to and from the airport was easy. All and all we loved it. I would definitely recommend this place.
