“Great stay.”

“I stayed in a Capitol Room. It was extremely small-even for 2 of us. You barely had room to walk let alone put your things. Apparently the newer section of the hotel has larger, updated rooms. The Capitol Room and the hotel in general could use some updates. When I arrived, the front desk staff was not welcoming. Most of the staff I interacted with were the same. It seemed like they didn’t like their job. For these reasons, I didn’t like this hotel. ”

“The room was updated but without a fridge or microwave. Private seating area. Take a fast shower if in a cabin limited hot water. 2 good restaurants right there.”

“The Padre is a nice, basic motel. The Padre’s proprietor, Charles, was very friendly and helpful. He responded to our needs quickly. This hotel is an older building but well maintained and clean. Escalante is a tiny town. You can walk to the few restaurants along Main Street. The Escalante National Monument is just 10 minutes down the million dollar highway, and that is amazing to experience.”

“Unique: the wagons. Problems: prior guest dirty towel left in bathroom, soap dispenser in shower ran out of soap (very little in it). Breakfast was sparse, though the pancakes were very good.”
