"We stayed in one of the villas and loved it. The villa was well-stocked for the stay, the bed was comfortable, hot tub was clean and ready for use, and the setting amongst the trees is so pretty. The the food at the restaurant in the lodge (Fifty44) is also really good."

"What a wonderful stay we, and our canine companion, had! The cabin we stayed in was clean, comfortable and cozy. The manager is very helpful and kind--he actually went beyond the call for us a few times (once when we left our key in the cabin and the other when we forgot an item.) The setting is beautiful-- surrounded by trees and mountains, and just a few yards from the sparkling Yuba river. We will happily come back!"

Tahoe Donner Condo on the Creek

"This was a beautiful cabin at the top of Tahoe Donner downhill ski resort. Comfortable couch and even more comfortable bed. Huge soaking tub was amazing to have since my friend was taking a day off from hiking the PCT to Canada. We cooked food and had everything we needed in the kitchen, including a drip coffee machine. Outside is a creek and a small bench that was nice to sit on in the sun. This was my first trip to California and I’ll definitely be back!"

"We enjoyed this property for a midsummer weeklong stay in Truckee. The house is comfortable and welcoming. We appreciated having the full kitchen to cook dinners. Some things that could use improvement: The "bunk bed" bedroom doesn't have a window covering, so it's very bright early in the mornings. The back deck is lovely and has Adirondack-style chairs, but both the deck and chairs were covered in pollen -- it would have been nice if the deck and chairs had been hosed off prior to our arrival. The kitchen appliances are a bit run down, although they do work: the oven door is loose, and the refrigerator produce drawers are cracked. Another note, which is no fault of the property: the house is in the Tahoe Donner neighborhood, and does come with guest passes to the recreation facilities and private marina. But in the last couple of years, this has gotten much more expensive. It's now 30 per person per day to use those facilities. When I did this a few years ago, I seem to remember it was free, or very low cost. 30 per person per day would add up fast for a family.Overall, we really enjoyed our stay, but seems that just a touch of additional TLC could make it ideal!"
