Question 4

How do I find the best car rental deals in Preston with Expedia?

Accepted Answer

Question 5

How old do you have to be to rent a car in Preston?

Accepted Answer

The youngest age you can rent a vehicle in Preston is 21. An extra fee for young drivers applies, so check before you book and factor in possible additional costs. There could also be restrictions on the sorts of cars that can be rented by young drivers. For instance, some providers will only rent out small to medium-sized cars to less-experienced motorists. Rules may differ between suppliers, so be sure to read the fine print.

Question 6

What do you need to rent a car in Preston?

Accepted Answer

The main things are your driver's license and a credit card in the same name. Most car rental companies will offer you insurance, which is optional. But you may be asked to provide proof of alternative coverage if you choose to opt out. Check your policy requirements to avoid any issues.

Question 7

What side of the road do you drive on in Preston?

Accepted Answer

Motorists in Preston drive on the left-hand side of the road, and the driver's seat and some controls are on the opposite side to cars in the U.S. Spend a little extra time getting familiar with your car before getting on the road.

Accepted Answer

Question 9

Can I rent a car for a month or longer in Preston?

Question 10

Where can I find a Preston car rental if I am younger than 25?

Accepted Answer

Some Preston providers will rent to drivers under 25 years of age, and others won't. Age policies differ from supplier to supplier, so you'll need to do your homework. Also, find out if there are additional costs. Some outlets will have a surcharge for customers between the ages of 21 and 24. Always read through the terms and conditions to avoid any nasty surprises.

Question 11

What insurance should I choose for my car rental in Preston?

Accepted Answer

A comprehensive insurance plan is a fantastic idea for your upcoming Preston escape. That's why we recommend adding collision protection while organizing your car rental with Expedia. This insures your vehicle against theft, vandalism and collision damage. Some destinations may need you to have a minimum level of liability insurance. This may already be included in your rental cost or your own auto insurance, so check what you're covered for and whether you need it.

Question 12

Can I drive in Preston with my current driver's license?

Accepted Answer

If you don't possess a driver's license issued in England, then you may need to apply for an International Driving Permit (IDP) in your home country to be allowed to rent a car. Please also consider that if an IDP is required, it has no validity on its own. You'll be asked to show your current driver's license your passport and other forms of identification as well. Lastly, it's important that the credit card used to book the rental matches the name on your driver's license and passport. Some other things to note for international car rentals are:

Age restrictions: You'll need to be 25 or over in many countries to rent a car. If you're younger than that, it might still be possible to rent a car but you'll have to pay a Young Driver's Surcharge. Additional restrictions may also apply to the types of vehicles you can rent.
Driving limitations: Be sure to read the rules and regulations before sliding behind the wheel. With rental cars, you usually can't cross country borders, drive onto ferries or go off-roading with a rental vehicle.
