I had the most wonderful stay at Melrose River Club while visiting Texas State University. From the moment I arrived, the staff in the lobby were incredibly kind and welcoming. The entire property was spotless — from my little house to the pool and all of the shared spaces. Everything felt clean, peaceful, and thoughtfully cared for. What I loved most was the feeling of having my own private space. My cottage was the perfect size for a weekend stay — cozy, beautifully designed, and filled with charming decor that had such a nostalgic touch. It truly felt like my own little retreat. The pool area was beautiful, and I especially enjoyed the fire pit seating areas. One of my favorite moments was sitting on my private patio with a glass of wine, reading, and soaking in the quiet outdoor atmosphere surrounded by nature. It was peaceful in the best way. Even though it was a quieter season, I actually appreciated that calm and sense of independence. I genuinely rate this place beyond five stars. I will absolutely be returning and I can’t wait to come back in the summertime when it’s warmer so I can enjoy the pool even more and go tubing on the river. If you’re looking for a clean, charming, peaceful stay with the perfect mix of privacy and amenities, I highly recommend it. Nebraska/New Jersey Girls

The hotel was really nice and the staff was really friendly and helpful. We love the bartenders at the restaurants in the hotel. The pool and gym were in very nice condition. We enjoyed our stay; especially once we discovered we could order beer up to the pool!
