9/10 Wonderful! (1,892 reviews)
I walked all around London and not a single item stolen but you know where I got pickpocketed? in the hotel elevator, and what was most disturbing was how little the hotel seemed to care or how willing they were to actually investigate it.
When I reported the theft, I was initially told they would look into it. A few hours later, they told me the footage had already been deleted. I explained that I knew exactly when it happened and asked them to check the hallway cameras, since I knew the approximate time and location. They said they would call me back.
The problem is, they never even asked me for a description of what I was wearing or what I looked like. I was calling them directly through the hotel phone, so they had every opportunity to get the information they would need to identify me on camera. It became obvious that they had no real intention of checking anything.
They never called me back, so I called them again. Then the story completely changed. I was told they actually couldn’t access their cameras. When I asked why, the explanation kept changing. First, I was told they could access them but it was “too much work,” and then I was told they actually couldn’t access them at all. Eventually, I was basically told to call the police if I cared that much.
The housekeeping was also disappointing. During our first two nights, the room was barely cleaned. The pillows were left on the ground, and the top sheet was just thrown onto the bed sloppily.
