“My stay at Horsley Lodge was fantastic. From the moment I arrived to the moment I left the staff were outstanding . I stayed in the Barn cottage and I cannot recommend it highly enough, the same goes for the food that comes out of their kitchen. I have already started to recommend Horsley Lodge to my friends and family.”

“Nice setting,friendly staff.What I didn't like that the full English breakfast was over cooked the fried egg was hard ,the black pudding and hash browns were rock hard and had no moisture in them There was no marmalade to go with the toast.”

“Location is great for us. We stayed in Room 3 in the courtyard as we had a small dog with us and they are not allowed in the Main Hotel rooms. We have stayed in this room before - its an excellent size but on the first floor. It seems to have been modernised from when we were last there which was nice. We didn't have breakfast or evening meal there as it is "hotel prices". Within walking distance of the hotel is one of the best pubs in Derbyshire - The Hollybush Inn - great beer and grub.”

Negatives: Tiny tv English Bfast poor quality ingredients 10.30am booking out not acceptable ..particularly when paying £493 for 3 nights & then having to pay an extra £25 to book out at 12. A shame because staff all very friendly but obviously let down by greedy owners.”

“Lovely property in countryside attached to a very well maintained golf course. No bath robes, slippers or safe in the room which I would have expected for a hotel of this type and price point. Very clean and well looked after. Helpful, pleasant local staff.”

“The hotel was very clean. Staff couldn’t be more helpful. Never stayed at a Days Inn before but would certainly stay with them again. Although the hotel was on the m1 we didn’t hear any traffic noise. There was no restaurant at the hotel but services was next door”

“One night stay, room(plum porter) much bigger than photos , clean comfy and in keeping with the building. Staff very friendly, beer spot on food good. We didn't want breakfast as we were going for lunch, just. Suited us. Lovely little village, church peaceful, sound of the bells chiming, like going back in time. Nothing we didn't like, beautiful hanging baskets, beer terrace, a very popular, dog friendly pub, thanks.”
