We stayed in the large Shakespeare room, often used as a Bridal Suite. The spa is great, with a good sized pool, a jacuzzi and unusual sauna. Really good breakfasts served in bedrooms and at the nearby sister-hotel Milsoms. The fine dining at the main restaurant on the nearby River Stour was sublime, with exquisite food, terrific service, a knowledgeable sommelier and wonderful ambience at tables outside under large parasols. Staff offer free shuttle service to and from both restaurants whenever required. A few suggestions, for £27.50 pp I would expect breakfast to be cooked freshly, it was very lukewarm from the hot plates. A small point but the room key attachment being a silicon spoon made no sense or representation to the brand? The staircase carpet was quite dirty on arrival. You can see the building being a bit jaded in parts. The patio area on Tennyson was hugely uninspiringWe did have a very nice stay 4\* rather than 5\* which we had hoped for, sorry. From we were greeted at reception we were made to feel welcome and nothing was too much trouble.
