"We stayed 3 nights and they never cleaned our room once. When asked why this was the case, they blamed us. They said that because we didn’t put out the “please clean the room” sign we were at fault. Never heard of this rule before, but we made sure to put it up the second day. Again our room was not cleaned. Again we were blamed for not putting out the sign. On checking out I asked them to rectify this problem and they refused. Horrible customer service if you can even call it that. Save yourself the grief and stay somewhere else. "

"For the money, I cannot think of a better value! I’m traveling for a new job and needing a place relatively close to Aberdeen. Since I have had HORRIBLE experiences in Aberdeen, I decided to check this place out and I cannot recommend it enough. I was not sure if I had the right place at first as the big sign outside reads “Ocean Shore Resort” and doesn’t mention American Value Inn except for a decal on the door. So I thought I was at the wrong place for a few minutes. Perhaps since it’s the off season, I had to call the manager to check in but she came in within five minutes and checked me in quickly. The room is very clean and modern. Had all the necessities. It was so quiet though I was glad to see that they do provide ear plugs as well just in case. It’s a great little place and I’ll definitely be staying here if I come during the summer with my family. "
