From Cougar, it's approximately 40 miles (64 kilometers) to the southwest to Portland and 85 miles (137 kilometers) to the north to Tacoma.
From much-loved, tourist hotspots to hidden gems slightly off the beaten path, the area around Cougar is wonderfully endowed with things to do and see. Battle Ground, 20 miles (32 kilometers) to the northeast, and Woodland, 25 miles (40 kilometers) to the northeast of Cougar are worth a visit too.
Organize some transportation and head out to Washougal, a shopping and transport center for the region, some 35 miles (56 kilometers) from Cougar. This regional center offers a wide range of points of interest, including Steigerwald Lake National Wildlife Refuge, Two Rivers Heritage Museum and Captain William Clark Regional Park. Ensure you don't return to Cougar until you've spent a little time at Washougal's Parker's Landing Historical Park and Orchard Hills Golf and Country Club.
The Southwest Washington area offers travelers plenty of laid-back pursuits, such as shore fishing and beach combing.
The most convenient major airport, Portland International Airport, is located in Portland, 35 miles (56 kilometers) to the southwest of Cougar, so take that into account when booking your holiday.
