"We loved our stay with our two dogs at the Redbird Hideaway. The property felt secluded and cozy. We loved the charcoal grill , the fire pit, and all of the comforts of home but in the beautiful woods. The hot tub was clean and well maintained. Felt great after a day spent in Mammoth cave! "Staff was very friendly and welcoming when we interacted at the front desk and when passing staff in the hallways. Our room however was not cleaned throughly upon on arrival. The floors in the bathroom and entryway were sticky and the carpet was damp throughout the room. The carpet was so dirty that our socks became black after walking around the room for an hour. So much so, that we had to throw them all away. There were also several food stains on the chair in the room and the fridge was still full of old food from the previous guest. The window curtain had several brown stains and the outer most blankets on both beds had stain spots as well (threw those on the floor before sleeping). We checked in on a thursday evening then stayed 1 full and were only in the room for a few hours, mid-day and to sleep at night. When checking out saturday morning I mentioned the cleanliness issues with front desk. The staff member apologized about the conditions of the room and said they would let the custodians know so they could get it cleaned properly. I mentioned that the floor was so wet and dirty, the only reason I didn't ask for a new room was due to the minimal amount of time we would actually be spending in the room other than sleeping. Again, staff responded by saying they would make sure the room was cleaned after we left. Lastly, the pool had a lot of loose hair floating around and there was dirt or sand accumulating in the corners. "
