9.4/10 Exceptional! (1,000 reviews)
I have stayed at this hotel many times. My most recent stay ended with a huge disappointment for a property that was typically, and claims to be one of the better hotels in the Dallas area. My stay was fine, nothing special but as expected for a hotel of this caliber. Upon checkout I was presented a bill that seemed correct. No mention of any extra charges. However, upon receipt of my Amex bill I saw my charge was @ $60 more than my checkout bill. I assumed it was a mistake, perhaps a parking charge (I did not have a car), or something of that nature. Upon calling the hotel I was informed there was a $59.90 charge for using my Amex to pay. No one ever told me that there would be an extra charge for using my Amex. I had a Visa card I could have used. They do not accept cash. But none of that matters. Someone should have told me they would charge me for using my Amex, or they should have printed the charge on the final printed bill. None of that happened,, they just added the fee without a word. It's not even the $60 (which is real money) it's the sneaky way they simply added the charge without notification. Further, since Hotels.com stores my Amex, perhaps there should have been some sort of heads up that this hotel adds a fee for use of the card on file. What a low class, sneaky way for a Hotel that claims to be a first class establishment to conduct their business. After at least 6 or 7 visits to this hotel. My most recent stay will be my last.
