“This is a very pleasant hotel, ideally situated for those arriving in Skipton by train. It's virtually the first thing you see when leaving the station. It's a ten minute stroll into the town centre, past a former cotton mill, and there's an alternative route via the attractive canal towpath, easily accessible from the rear of the hotel. My room was a single, very comfortable with an en suite shower, with a Juliet balcony overlooking the canal. Breakfast was good and all staff were pleasant and……

“What a lovely place to stay, an amazing find. Dinner in the bar, fish and steak dishes were excellent, tasty, fresh enjoyed with a fine wine and relaxed with cheese and biscuits afterwards. Staff extremely helpful and courteous. A lovely gentlemen serving breakfast cared to explain the local area. Breakfast food also wonderful. Spa facilities used in the morning and then on our way, beautiful property and very relaxing. Only booked for one night but will definetly return. Truly delightful……

“We were given a room at the rear of the hotel which was in a converted annex. This was nicely decorated with basic amenities although we did have a shower and a bath. The accommodation was on 2 floors, with the bathroom on the ground floor and the bedroom on the first floor. This was not very convenient for us when using the bathroom during the night, especially as the stairs were steep and creaked, waking us both each time. There was one chair upstairs and one downstairs so we couldn't both……

“I was a walker arriving at the Nag's Head at 15.30. I was warmly received and shown to my very comfortable room. Although the restaurant was closed on a Tuesday evening, i was provided with a wonderful Chinese meal at a very modest cost. I requested a continental breakfast which was fine. Pick Hill is a lovely small village with a long history, some of which is displayed in the ancient church. ”
