Beautiful building along the Dean path in Dean village, a picturesque part of Edinburgh, well worth the walk along the 'Water of Leith'.
Dean Village,meaning deep valley, is a former village and was the centre of grain milling area for more than 800 years. 🌳It was a separate village until 19th century when it became part of Edinburgh. 🌳You should definitely visit The Water of Leith walkway which follows the river Balerno,at the foot of the Pentland Hills,to the sea at Leith. .
This is Well Court. It was commissioned in the 1880s by Sir John Findlay, who was then the owner of The Scotsman newspaper. The building was originally intended to give accommodation for local workers in the Dean Village area. In 2007 Edinburgh World Heritage and the owners of the building funded a major restoration of Well Court.
You don't need a time machine to journey into the past — just venture to Dean Village. This relic of yesteryear lets you walk through history and experience what life was like long ago.

This open-air museum is located in West End, a place that has lots going for it! Edinburgh Castle, Murrayfield Stadium, and Edinburgh Playhouse Theatre are other fine sightseeing choices not far away when you've had your fill of Dean Village.

On arrival our sheets had stains on them our bin wasn’t emptied had food and cigarettes, pots and pans were peeling and unusable. Staff was kind and helpful after telling them.
