"We were not able to stay at the Hotel Gigur, since Americans are not allowed to travel to Iceland and our airline cancelled our trip. I know they have a no-refund policy, but I would have thought there might be some forgiveness given the situation with the pandemic. Despite several tries, I was unsuccessful in getting a refund. "

"This was the second time we stayed here. The rooms are meticulously clean and the staff are always helpful and friendly. We were able to take advantage of the free parking (first come, first served) all days except one but there was reasonable street parking half a block away. There is some construction out front of the hotel - the city is building a public square which will be great when open. I’d guess by spring 2026\. The work started and finished at a reasonable time. But honestly all of Reykjavik seems to be under construction. It is a thriving city. "
