“Amazing stay at Anantara in Tangalle. Staff is helpful and welcoming. Especially Piyal our butler who made every effort to make our stay and unforgettable one. Rooms are spacious and clean, as well as the bathroom with a nice rain shower. The bed is really comfortable. Restaurants at the resort are good, we really enjoyed the Italian restaurant Il Mare (Risottos are delicious)”

“Wasn't very clean especially the bathroom. No where to place anything in the room, had to use floor. Poor lighting in room, only I of 3 lights worked. No toilet roll or soap provided, had to ask for toilet roll. No dustbin in room or bathroom. This is a homestay, not a hotel.
Breakfast was good and they attanged a scooter hire for me.
Sadly when I went to leave things turned nasty by both the father and son, claiming I needed to pay for the room and breakfast. I booked via Hotels.com a company...

“Hotel felt dated and neglected. The breakfast was cold and inedible, so we ate out each morning. However, we felt it would have been pointless telling the staff as they seemed uninterested and like they had their spirit broken. The room was dirty and sheet were stained, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel. It needs shutdown and given a deep deep deep clean then remodelled. I suspect the owner or manager need to try and build up their staffs morale as the staff were so unhappy it felt awkward. ”
