“This lodging is a hidden gem away from Poas but close enough to get to the crater within 20 minutes. The views from the dining area were spectacular. The owner, Cindy, communicated clearly and often. She provided excellent directions to the property which is located high up on a hill in a residential area. The bedding was comfortable. The breakfast was delicious. I would highly recommend Serenity Ecolodge for a stay near Poas Volcano. I have nothing but good things to say about the……

“I can’t recommend enough! We stayed in San Jose the night before our flight, after spending the week in Fortuna we weren’t sure what to expect. We booked a cheap stay, and it was fantastic! It was clean, safe, and comfortable! It’s inside a locked gate, with a safe place to park. It’s walking distance to plenty of food and shops. I can’t recommend enough! ”

There’s a menu in the room for options for meals. We didn’t partake in any of this, but it was great to know that we had a food available if needed. “Very responsive host, and a clean and nice setting. You feel you are close to nature although you are close to the airport. There are trees and bushes that give you a peaceful feeling. Host is fluent in English. I would stay here again. ”
