“This lodging is a hidden gem away from Poas but close enough to get to the crater within 20 minutes. The views from the dining area were spectacular. The owner, Cindy, communicated clearly and often. She provided excellent directions to the property which is located high up on a hill in a residential area. The bedding was comfortable. The breakfast was delicious. I would highly recommend Serenity Ecolodge for a stay near Poas Volcano. I have nothing but good things to say about the……

“Staff met you at the front, Spanish-speaking only but super nice. The room was fantastic when we stayed. It was a little bit colder so there was a space heater. There’s a menu in the room for options for meals. We didn’t partake in any of this, but it was great to know that we had a food available if needed. The only downside was the lack of hot water in the shower. We only stayed for one night so it really didn’t bother us that much but if we were saying multiple nights that would’ve been an……

“This was a very nice hotel a few minutes outside the SJO airport. Very modern. Breakfast included which was delicious. Staff were friendly. Gated parking area. Felt very safe. Would definitely stay again. Worked well to get me outside of the city so I could beat the morning traffic down to Manuel Antonio. ”

“The room was clean and the staff was very personable and accommodating. It is definitely showing it's age but this hotel is so convenient and so close to the airport with good shuttle services.”

“Peter and his staff were so kind and welcoming, he even stayed up until 1am for our late flight. The only complaint are the beds were pretty stiff, but that’s common in CR. It’s under the flight path of the airport so you will hear the jets every now and then, it can be loud at times. Overall I was very pleased with the sincere kindness we received, that to me means a lot. Thanks!”

“Lovely, ample eco-friendly rooms in a tranquil setting. Large garden dips down into the forest. The staff (all family) are helpful and kind. Plan on 10-15 minutes on a tight curvy road to get to restaurants but the hotel location is worth it.”
