"Very clean and service was above and beyond great. I used a booking company the day of our stay and therefore the reservation and fees were nonrefundable. One item was left off the description of the property. They do not allow trailers and there was no way of knowing until the hotel sends you a confirmation email śaying trailers are not allowed. I did not read the email and showed up with a trailer at 9:30pm. There really is no place to put a trailer. The roads around the property are no parking. The shopping malls and businesses around the hotel have no overnight parking. While trying to find a place to park, a tow truck went through the parking lot trolling for someone to tow. When I got to the point of leaving, loosing the stay fees and finding another place to stay the desk clerk found a solution. He really went above and beyond to help us out. The hotel was full and after all had checked in I counted 15 open parking spaces at 10:30pm. At 5:30am in the morning I counted 13 open spots. "

"So close to everything in Durango, wonderful staff, and beautiful hotel with yummy, hot breakfast. Only wish I'd had time to use the pool/jacuzzi! Draw back was all the construction going on around the hotel and in town. Should be even better once that's over and done with. "

"If you stay in Durango, you can't find a better place than here. The value of your dollar alone is remarkable. The hotel is spotless. The free breakfast is beyond any other offering; it is, in fact, excellent. That aside, you want to stay here because of the staff. Phoebe is the GM, and you will love her friendliness. It is impossible not to love her. Leon is in charge of maintenance. Perhaps unusual to mention in a review as I never required any, but he always met me in the hallway with a smile and a friendly word. The entire front desk staff and housekeeping staff are infinitely lovely people who are always warm and friendly. I stayed for 15 nights and was sad to say goodbye—best value in Durango by a mile. "

"Beautifully appointed historic railroad hotel. Convenient to all things downtown Durango. The staff was outstanding. The accommodations elegant yet comfortable. I will definitely stay here again. There is also a very nice patio on the 2nd story for watching the train coming and going. The train station is on the same block within walking distance."
