The hotel was full of character,we were lucky enough to be upgraded to a suite which was absolutely stunning.
The breakfast selection was a little different than the usual full English cooked, and was delicious.
Would highly recommend staying in this hotel, plenty of bars/restaurants close by and very conveniently located for exploring the manifest city centre.
Great location, friendly staff, clean, the beds were terrible. Thankfully I only needed to stay there for one night, but the mattresses were poor quality.
I have stayed at this property many times. Its proximity to the playhouse and bus station , helpful and friendly staff, tasty breakfast and delicious wine makes this the perfect hotel for me. It may be a little bit more expensive but it’s worth every penny.
The staff were very helpful with our luggage. We left it with the hotel as we took a couple side trips.
We would recommend this hotel. It is quite close to the train station and the bus station.
Beautiful property with a staff that will gi above and beyond to make sure your stay is great 😁 Thank you
Would stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone
Great location and staff... My small room is perfect for a solo traveler... very clean and breakfast was top shelf but extra.
No elevator or AC, which was no big deal for me but keep that in mind if those are things you need.
The room was quite clean and they made it up nicely every day when we put the sign on our door. We liked the breakfast choices and the fruit, yogurt, bread etc. The location was great for us - getting to the train station, restaurants, and the Royal Mile took about 15 minutes walking, and the castle about 20. St.James Quarter (a nice mall) was five minutes away. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful!
Great location! And lots of charm. Some wear and tear on wallpaper otherwise well maintained. I only stayed for 2 nights but I slept well. The shower is VERY small. And there is no elevator but it’s only 3 floors so no big deal unless you have a super heavy luggage. I didn’t pay for breakfast so I can’t speak that. Lots of good eats near the area and convenient location to public transportation.
We had a really great stay at The Place. Good location, room was amazing and staff were really friendly and helpful. We loved it and would go back in a second.

It’s a nice enough hotel in a very convenient area. The rooms were satisfactory with a comfortable bed and a good sized bathroom to go along with it, the staff were friendly and helpful!! The breakfast was the only negative side of this hotel, wasn’t the best standard and for the price of it there wasn’t much options… other than that it was an enjoyable stay!
