"After many years living in central Dorking and now living elsewhere, this is our ‘go to’ hotel when we visit family in the area. Since it’s refurbishment it is a nice place to stay and within easy walking of restaurants and shops on Dorking High Street. Parking is limited on site, but both M&S and Sainsbury’s have paid car parking and the hours are 8am - 6pm Mon - Sat. We prefer Sainsbury’s - come out of the hotel, turn left and go up the first small road on the left - it is signposted. The road curves right and then you enter the car park at the back of the shop. Avoid the short stay parking around the shop entrance. If you park on a Saturday afternoon, you pay for the few hours up till 6pm and then you can park right through to 8am on Monday morning. There are plenty of restaurants in Dorking, but our ‘go to’ ones that have been around for a very long time are Dorking Brasserie for Indian food and The New Fountain Garden for a Chinese meal. Pre drinks in the nearby the Kings Arms for both. Table reservations should be made at busy times. A nice walk from the hotel to Denbies Vineyard is available - walk across the park and enter via a footpath which starts at Yew Tree Road. A 15 - 20 min drive away is the lovely Friday Street village - very small, but with a good car park and with a bit of research you will find a circular walk via the Leith Hill tower where, last time we visited, there were drinks available from a small kiosk at the foot of the tower."

"Check in was quick, efficient and friendly. Room very spacious, clean and comfortable. Tea / coffee (but no biscuits or water), excellent hairdryer, iron and ironing board. Outside seating area by the bar was lovely, restaurant clean. All staff we came across were approachable and professional. Single only downside was that guests slamming doors during the night was very loud. Very much enjoyed our stay."

"The accommodation was very homely, and having home cooked breakfast was a lovely touch. Walking distance from the local shops and train station made it very convenient to get around and get what i needed on a daily basis. Highly recommended and will visit again."

"Food options were ok but no steak which was a shame. It was the first night for a new waitress, my girlfriend and I found the little bold man who was front of house quite patronising and loud in front on guests. Completely uncalled for and unprofessional "

"Lovely hotel and pub. Room was impressive, nice and large, and spotlessly clean Super king bed was unexpected. Rarely seen in many hotels so this was a definite delight. Only downside to the pub as a guest was we were unable to get a nightcap on our return at 11pm. Breakfast very nicely set out. Ingredients fresh and flavoursome. If returning to the are, will definitely stay again. "

"Staff were great, we were able to store our luggage while we toured. Room was older, but very clean. Breakfast was available at a reasonable cost. "

"The apartment was clean and spacious, with a suitable location. The kitchen was clean with enough utensiles. The towels, bedsheet and toilet were clean and we were comfortable to use them without doubt. To our surprise, there were two fans which gave us good comfort during the hot summer. The only down side was that the pan and saucepan were a bit old. A new set will be good. Also, a few more cutting knives will be convenient. Lastly, a few more hooks in the toilets to let us place our towels and clothes will also be great. Outside our room, we found that the laundary was a bit dirty, but we did not have to use it, so it was alright. One last thing, we did not realize we have to walk up 2 storeys. So, some warning in the description page will be good."

"Our stay was good. We werer late (10.30pm) Check-in was quick & easy. Room very good. Room facilities e,g, Coffee remote tv plug in for recharging phones clean Shower need a boost (no pressure). All in all a GOOD EXPERIENCE normally use Premier but would DEFFINITELY us OYO again. "

"Booked at the last minute due to a change of plans. The staff onsite were friendly and helpful but the first worrying sign was the hall and stairs leading to the room which had piles of general stuff in every corner, up against doors and overflowing from cupboards. The room was large but had clearly not been hoovered for a while. The bathroom was in a poor condition. And there were stains on the pillow cases and towels. Overall not a great experience. "

"I needed a flat with easy access from the train station as I was travelling alone with heavy luggage, & it was a short 3 min walk. There were a few food options at the local shops so that was very convenient too. The flat was comfortable, clean & cozy, it was a great choice. It was well appointed with everything I needed for a 5 night stay. Highly recommended!!"
