“This is my go to spot when I stay in Brookings. Staff are always very friendly and helpful.”

“My wife and I travel a lot and this was the worst hotel we have ever stayed in. So bad that we checked in, dropped our bags and started looking for a different hotel. Musty smell, air conditioner was kicking out foul air. No tv…..in fact at the front desk was a hand written sign that read “we apology no tv”. Desk attendant struggled with English. We checked into another hotel within the hour and the desk attendant there told us that the Pipestone Inn had been shut down by the local health……

“ok”

“I get that it's a small town dated hotel. Looks like they have tried doing updates to the place. But not clean at all. Mud on the floor, spots of crap on bathroom wall, didn't even want to shower since the dirt stains, can't confirm if bedbugs but looked like a few small dead bugs on sheets. And pubic hairs... wondered if sheets even get washed. Wife went to get some fresh blankets to sleep on, the older lady was really rude I guess. Musty smell, allergies are terrible now today. Doubt……

“I was nicely surprised by how flexible everyone was, they handled special requests smoothly without any hassle over particulars.”

“When we checked, the staff were not wearing anything indicating that they were part of the hotel staff as they were wearing regular clothes. After we had checked in, we went to our room. We did not have hand soap in the room nor did they have any in stock on the property. The pool was closed as they did not have the proper cleaning supplies to clean the pool. They did not had very little to offer for breakfast and the same goes for coffee. The vending machines were mostly empty.”

“Efficient experience from check in through check out, saw no delays along any step of our visit thankfully! The front desk staff knew exactly how to assist guests promptly when called upon, which helped too!”

“Great property and great vibe.”

“Great spot for our weekend stay. Host was communicative and the location was excellent. Close to downtown and SDSU. We will consider again during our next visit.”
