The property was nice and overall we had a good stay. However, we did not have a good check in experience. We paid an extra 60.00 to book a corner room. We did arrive at the hotel a few hours before check in time, around 12 noon. Long story short, the hotel had the wrong room type booked for us, and initially didn't tell us. Instead they they took our 375.00 deposit, then said our room was not ready and we were welcome to wait by the pool. After waiting outside in the scorching sun for 2 hours we went inside to follow up. Mind you, we were dressed for chilly Pittsburgh PA weather since that's where we came from. Anyway, the hosts told us about the mix up stating that Expedia booked the wrong room. I found it hard to believe since a had a print out stating otherwise. Then they said there was nothing they could do until the manager arrived and we'd have to continue to wait or take a lesser room that we wouldn't be refunded for. In total, we waited outside for 4 and a half hours before finally being checked in, and the manager never showed her face. The issue for me was communication. They should have just been upfront during our arrival. Also there were some repairs needed in the building. For example, one of the elevators was not working. Also, some of the outdoor furniture needed cleaned or replaced, I also noticed that some of the fixtures in my bathroom needed to be repaired. Finally black folks beware, YOU WILL encounter colorism and not just at the hotel.
