See Dolphins, Manatee and Rays from the Balcony!
THE VIEW: Panoramic view of the bay. Fun to watch all the watercraft going to and fro. Partial view of sunrise and sunset from the balcony. Amazing to clearly see numerous dolphins, schools of fish, and even manatee and sting rays from the 10th floor balcony! Bring your long lens if you're a photographer.
THE UNIT: It's adequately furnished but dated. The place was tidied up but not thoroughly cleaned. The bed is comfortable. Plenty of hot water and water pressure. Air temperature control is inconsistent (warmer in the bedroom, colder in the main room). The pull out couch is very uncomfortable to sleep on. Very basic beach chairs are provided. Towels and linens are old but clean and functional.
THE BUILDING: Lots of construction going on. It's noisy and messy but necessary. Because of construction equipment and vehicles, there is limited parking next to the building. Some mechanical problems (elevator, pool fountain, hot tub) affected us during our stay. The biggest problem was that the walking path to Lovers Key is blocked by construction. The ability to walk to Lovers Key was the reason we chose this place. We feel we should have been told that walking access is currently unavailable.
THE RESTAURANT: Huge bonus is that Flippers, a restaurant immediately next to the pool, is EXCELLENT! Call ahead to get on the seating list!
