"This is a lovely boutique hotel that is newly renovated to take advantage of the unique caves in Matera. There is a beautiful view over the gorge. We spent 3 nights here and the lovely owner spent time with us each day curating a perfect itinerary for seeing Matera. There was free parking nearby. The room was spacious and comfortable, and breakfast was good. It’s about a 10 min walk into the main part of town, but it’s nice to be on the edge with the view and it’s super quiet. "

There is a ventilation system, but the house carries a particular scent, perhaps typical of this type of construction. The location is very safe. I loved the idea of being able to stay in surroundings that make this town so The staff are exceptionally friendly & took plenty of time to explain the area & give recommendations which were exceptional! The location is fantastic! A close walk to the old town but also close enough to the outskirts that make parking easy. Great stay! Can’t recommend this place enough! "
