Family Retreat

We had a great time. Really nice spaces to gather together for a sibling reunion. There were 8 of us. Lots to do in and out of resort area. Pool was terrific. There was plenty of parking, but had to finesse driveway as on a hill. Loved the covered porch area, like being in a treehouse. Fridge needs some repair to door shelf and a slide to hold veggie bins properly. Oven seemed slow to heat up big casserole dishes. Game room looked great, but we didn’t end up using as we had too much fun talking, chatting and gathering in common areas with one another in living area and covered porch. The ease I had with booking the property was the best I have ever experienced… which deserves more than 5 stars. We had a lovely reunion and retreat. Thank you.

Back porch relaxing

We loved the screened-in back porch—it was the perfect spot for reading, playing board games, enjoying meals to the sounds of the stream and birds, or even sneaking in a midday nap! The house offered plenty of space to spread out, a large kitchen, and comfortable beds. We also appreciated the generous supply of starter items like toilet paper, hand soap, dish and laundry detergent, coffee, baggies, and foil. Great get-away

Excellent property with more amenities than most properties in which we've stayed. Jo answered a call quickly and understandably regarding gas logs. Definitely would consider a return trip to Larry's Lodge! Thanks for a great visit!

This house was great for our Massanutten weekend! Upstairs and downstairs living rooms felt spacious and game room was awesome for kids. Hosts were extremely kind and responsive. Would definitely stay again!

Nice mountain house with very nice indoor and outdoor space for the family.

Great weekend at Massanutten for a mountain biking. The house is spacious, however you they do not provide some essentials, like trash bags, dish soap, and coffee which is disappointing at this price point and size of house.

Our Family Christmas vacation

Our family came to this VRBO in Massanutten after Christmas and loved our stay! The home was exactly as described, had plenty of room and amenities, and allowed us to fully enjoy our vacation. From the game room and fire place to the bedrooms, this home has it all. The owner made the checkin process a breeze and communication was prompt. If our family wants to return to Massanutten, this is definitely where we will stay. Thank you!

Special JMU Gathering

The house was perfect for all age groups! The game room was a huge hit. Just a couple things to check off to make it perfect; painting the stair case to downstairs'; a pocket door at the kitchen and adjacent bedrooms. We will recommend to all are friends.

Family Trip

Family Vacation

We really enjoyed Larry's Lodge. It was exactly as pictured. We had an issue with the air conditioning and it was addressed and repaired immediately. The owners were great to deal with the and the entire booking was very easy. We would certainly rent this house again.

A little peace of heaven

I can’t begin to describe how beautiful this property is. Tucked away in the woods and located on a quiet street. Sitting on the back porch watching the deer and the baby gray fox just added to the peacefulness of this place. The host was amazing! I can’t say enough good things about this getaway. My only regret was that we couldn’t stay longer. It’s a little hidden gem that we were so fortunate to find. Looking forward to staying again next year!

Graduation Get-Together

My family from California, Florida and New Jersey used the graduation of my son from JMU to gather together and celebrate. The open concept of the house was perfect and the very large dining table was especially convenient for our meals and games. We also enjoyed the peacefulness of the screened-in backyard deck. The kitchen amenities were plentiful and we very much appreciated all of the thoughtful “starter” items throughout the house. We would definitely stay again!

McGaheysville Virginia mountain house.

Very nice property with comfortable accommodations. Gameroom great to keep kids entertained. Well stocked kitchen and large dining table to easily seat 8 people. Hosts were very helpful and easy to reach. The only recommendation would be to make entry stairs safer by making each step equal in height.

Wonderful and Relaxing!

We want to thank Jo for a wonderful week! Larry's Lodge was well stocked, clean, and close to all of the amenities on the mountain. We enjoyed the screened in porch and were delighted to find a family of deer grazing out back in the mornings! Check-in was quick and easy, the house was just as described, and Jo was a pleasure to rent with. We will definitely be back!

Great location and very comfortable

This house was amazing. The set up was great for two families. The game room occupied the kids and the adults enjoyed the peacefulness of watching deer in the woods from the screened in porch. Very clean and very comfortable. Communicating with the manager was effortless. Definitely recommend.

50th wedding anniversary

Celebrating our anniversary with our children and grandchildren was a great joy, and the house fit our needs. A few suggestions and comments - One propane tank is empty, and more importantly, when we first arrived and went out on deck, there was a strong propane odor. Upon inspection, the one tank was not turned completely off. Also, the window in the front bedroom was unlocked and shade was raised, when we arrived. Additional labels at the multiple light switches in living room and for that fan would help. We "gifted" the house with two plastic pitchers and some salt and pepper shakers. We had a great time and all did the zip line - even the celebrants! Thanks for a great home away from home. ps, my handyman hubby was concerned that the gutters were quite filled with leaves and could cause some leaking in heavy downfalls.
